I went 4 times to see most of the dwarf iris in bloom. Go twice, if you can, to see the taller ones. It's a lovely garden with good walking on grass and places just to sit. Seeing the blooming iris right there makes it easy to choose some for home. If it is dry, it should be wheel-chair accessible.... More

Thank you for the great review. It's good advice to suggest coming to the gardens more than once, as the various varieties of Iris do open at different times throughout the spring. Each visit will offer something new to see. We look forward to your repeated visits. All the best to you! More

We took the family to the gardens for Mother's Day. The blooms were almost over for the season, but it was still quite a sight. Be prepared to walk through the acres of display gardens. It is a good use of a couple hours of a Saturday or sunday in the spring.

My husband and I go every year to Schreiner's Gardens. The variety of irises and other flowers never cease to amaze us. We love being able to take our time as we stroll thru all the paths between their garden layouts because we both are photographers. The colors "palettes" are rich...and it's fun trying to catch the bees and hummingbirds... More

I first noticed the Iris fields while driving south on I-5 between Woodburn and Salem. For as far as the eye could see to the right of the freeway the color of the Iris brought beauty to the eye of all who traveled by. I had to find where I could stop and see such beauty up close. After a... More

Schreiner's Iris Garden in full bloom is magnificent. Acres upon acres of gorgeous blooms and abundant varieties of iris to walk in as well as more formal gardens. You can learn about Iris growing and select from a multitude of offerings. The bearded and dwarf Iris I ordered thrived and filled my NH garden with wonderful memories of our visit... More

Visit in the early morning and take a leisurely stroll through the gardens. The variety and colors are amazing. There are park benches, some in the shade, to stop and gaze at the surroundings. You can buy cut flowers or bulbs to take home. There is also a pleasant gift shop, with iris themed gift items. Remember to take your... More

Be there early in the morning as it get crowded as the day goes. A photographers paradise when it comes to color, light and textures... one iris after the other of pure beauty. The iris are gorgeous!! And it is free!! We go every year and often take a picnic lunch. The bulbs we bought at Schreiner's have grown great and the flowers are lovely. Neighbors comment on how pretty the flowers are.

Visit if you are in the market for Iris for your yard or as a gift. Very pleasant surroundings with a clean restroom. It would be difficult to make a choice the variety is so great.
