I went there as a tourist on Monday and Monday is their day off. They close on Monday. I couldn't give you more than what I know. This library ought to be the one of the safest libraries in the nation because it is built right next to the police dept and the city hall. They share the same parking... More

I love The Salem Library. Part of The Chemeketa Library system, the Salem Library is a multi-level literary paradise with onsite coffee and food service! Great location for a quick meeting or for a quiet place to collect and refresh.Great multi-media section.

Nice, mostly quiet facility with plenty to enjoy. Many options for education and entertainment. You do pay to park, but hopefully it goes to the library.

Came here to look up a hard to find historical book and found it. The library has tons of books and areas to sit and enjoy reading. It has many computers that one can use briefly to look up emails , get on internet for other reasons, do documents and to print them out, etc. There are movies and music... More

I have been a member for decades and still love it. Well organized, great children's and teens areas. Always updating. Has it all: computers, books, cds, dvds, used book store, cafe in lower level, artist displays, plenty of space for sitting. Helpful staff, just added the genealogy center. They have many events: lectures, book readings, music, book clubs and more.... More

I took my small children here years ago and it is still a terrific library. Kids' areas are welcoming and there is even a café in the basement. Be aware that you will need quarters for the parking meters--strange in a city with free downtown parking!

If your internet is on the blink, they have a computer lab. Free to use,all you do is take a slot to wait with the time you need to use the computer for and you wont wait long if at all. They also have a printer you can use that cost very little. Even a coffee shop is there for those... More

I love reading and with the price of new books nowadays I cannot afford to buy them but I always find a good selection to choose from. I do, however, wish that there were more new books but I understand the financial constraints that prevent this. Nevertheless, it is always a wonderful experience and I feel like a kid in... More
