I understand that the docents are volunteers, but the tour guide was awful. She provided loads of misinformation on the timing of events and droned on for way too long about the families who lived there

I loved the Gardens that were still open to the public, however, the house tours are only from 9-12 noon. And I think they are only open on certain days, too. This was suggested by our docent at The Bush House. Since I don't live...More

The historic Deepwood Estate, which includes a beautiful Queen Anne house and formal gardens is also available as an event location (weddings, birthdays, etc.). There are several gazebos that are lovely places to have a picnic. The serene surroundings invite contemplation and make a good...More

Beautiful Historic house. They will help you tour or you can walk through the house alone. Salem is lucky to have such a wonderful Historic home for all to enjoy. Beautiful.

Well-preserved old home now just a short drive from I-5. Interesting backstory on the families that have lived there and done various additions and renovations. The woods used inside on the doors and mantlepieces are amazing. Nice old kitchen. Lots of period pieces including a...More

This place is an overlooked gem. While we have never had a tour of the inside of this home, we have visited and toured the grounds and adjacent gardens on several occasions. We highly recommend both Spring and Fall visits to check out what is...More

A great place to take visitors to Salem to learn the city's early history. Victorian house with knowledgeable docents. 45 minutes and interesting. Inexpensive. Gardens beautifully maintained by volunteers.
