Today, April 18, 2017.. most of the Dunes are closed.. due to so much flooding! Where the ground is going up to the dunes.. are lakes! Hopefully very soon the ground will absorb all the standing water.

One Part of my trip to the southern oregon coast I went to the dunes national recreation area. It was very rainy one day but beautiful the next day. Incredible high dunes for miles and beautiful oregon beaches. You can camp on the dunes if you want but the best way to camp while still having a heater is with... More

We had heard and read great things about the dunes on the Oregon coast and were delightfully surprised at how right they were. We were there in late November so there weren't many others around. As we climbed over the shoreline dunes towards the ocean, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun broke through. It was chilly and... More

Even if your not ready to take a buggy up there - just the massiveness of this area is worth the stop. Just going there to sit in the sand and reflect on the beauty and the music that the ocean offers. The sunsets are breathtaking and it just gives you a chance to get away from all the hustle,... Rain or shine, there are riders on the dunes. Pick a spot to stop and watch others having fun - and then return with your own vehicle!

The dunes are beautiful and frequently offer spectacular ocean views from the top. They are worth stopping to see.

If your tired of tent camping, try Kelly's RV Rentals. It's very convenient, the RV's are very well cared for, well stocked and set up for the renter.

Lots of sand dunes to explore and areas for dune buggys and quads. Places to picnic and just relax and enjoy the area.
