    Great concert. Electric atmospere.
Went to a jazz concert. This place has a very lively, hometown kind of vibe. Mostly standing room, which actually lent to visiting with other concert goers. The ushers(if that's what you call them today) we're friendly and explained the safety rules. A great experience!

Hope you can stand for over 3 hours
We went and saw Tom Odell! HE was amazing!!! The venue however was less then desirable. They didn't have the balcony open and it was a large show! So absolutely NO seating downstairs! A very small section for those that were disabled. They got fold out chairs on the side in the dark. Not 1 other chair! Everyone had to stand for over 3 hours! I'm 49, in excellent shape and it was a lot to stand that long!! Even the 20 somethings were visibly tired and uncomfortable. I kept going to the bathroom just so I could sit for a minute. Not going back, no matter who plays there!

A little worn, but still rocks.
Was able to sit in the balcony to see Lukas Graham and Rozzi. Roseland is a little beat up in a vintage way. Bathrooms were clean. Was grateful for plenty of security outside. Had a great time.

Saw the band "Switchfoot" here.
Maintenance/cleaning is lacking but venue is intimate and easy to navigate.

The show itself was very good. The balcony seats are $hit, uncomfortable and way too close together. The "ADA" section needs a lot of work. I put ADA in parentheses because it's just a dark, barriered off section with fold out chairs with no rhyme or reason to it.

Special shout out to the guy who brought his 7-10 year olds into the ADA section and took out chairs after I saw the merch line getting shorter and took that opportunity to get some while we could, and wouldn't give us our seats back because "his son was sitting there," despite the fact that they were sitting on his lap comfortably 10 mins before and we had been the second people on the space. I had no problem with kids being in the space, but as far as I know it was the ADA section, not the family section.

Another even more special shout out to the staff member who, kicked us out of the ADA section for standing for 10-15 mins for "blocking the path" out of the section. We hadn't been able to see the stage AT ALL due to the crowd and the fact that that first guy's kid stole our seats. We paid as much money at anyone else there to see the headliner, and decided we deserved to be able to see him for at least 10 mins. I can't stand for very long comfortably, which is why I'm in the ADA section in the first place. I am disabled. He told us he needed to be on the other side of the barrier to stand because we were blocking the path (we weren't). We went to sit back down in our $hitty seats, but he kicked us out and took away our chairs, which were also not in the way. So I had to stand for the remainder of the concert, which my disabled body is paying for this morning.

In the end, because I got up from my spot in the ADA section, I got kicked out of my chair. Should disabled people (who are already crammed in the dark and can't see over the crowd very well and don't have access even to the uncomfortable seats in the balcony) just expect to not be able to buy merch from a show at the Roseland?

The performance, when I could see it and when I wasn't in pain after being forced to stand, was excellent. Was it worth the treatment? Maybe next time it would be better to leave my disabled ass home, as staff seems to not give a $hit about people like me.

Terrible place, felt like firetrap
Dirty… details of railings and trim falling off
So dark you could not find stairs
Will never go back

Music was great and I overall enjoyed my time at the theater. That being said, security is absolutely atrocious here, not to mention the long, LONG lines for the ATM and CASH ONLY bar. While the concert was great, I had my night seriously ruined by long lines and overzealous security guards who seemed to act more as the "fun police" than actually keeping anyone safe whatsoever.

The bad reviews I am reading seem to be people that either had a bad customer service experience or did not know the type of venue they were going to. Throwback places like this are often a disappointment to those expecting modern theaters and concert venues. I thought the rustic charm in this place was great and the fact that Keane kicked off their North American tour here and was incredible will make this a memorable place for me. Yeah it’s old and small with a bad bar set up and miserable bathrooms but it’s an intimate spot to see a show. I like the place.

I decided to go down to Portland for a weekend get away, usually if I'm in a new city I look to see if there are any shows going on, thankfully there was. This is a venue I was hoping to check off of my list sooner than later, and I'm glad it happened. Roseland is not a modern, refurbished venue by any means, its old, its dirty, and dark, like most concert venues are. The layout is GA on the floor, and the balcony above is seated and wraps around. Catch a show here if you can, you wont be disappointed.
