We sat outside (the inside does have a lingering smoke odor). We had an amazing nachos appetizer, followed by their superb lamb burger. I also had their own Irish stout— by far the best I’ve ever had.

I dropped in here for a few whiskeys last night and again this afternoon for a Guinness. The place was busy on Friday, but reasonably quiet on Saturday. Good efficient staff and a fun crowd.
They pour a proper pint and have a very extensive range of whiskey.
Well worth visiting.

A great Irish Pub and a fun place to spend an evening. The music is great and sets the mood. A good selection of ‘pub grub’. Servers are friendly and quick in a fast paced environment.

Was looking to watch a little football and smoke a cigar on Sunday. Kells cigar room is open whenever they’re open. Got a front row seat for the TV in a well ventilated downstairs cigar room which has a small but functional humidor. Drinks are reasonable as in most Irish Pubs.

This room was part of the Shanghai underground tunnel system that linked the port to the city. Cool historic vibe with plenty of space for you or your group.

We stopped in on a quiet Sunday late afternoon for a beer. Great Irish atmosphere and friendly bartender. As it goes, one beer lead to three which was advantageous. Just before 7pm musicians began to come in. Shortly we were treated to wonderful Irish music. A wonderful experience.

Whenever I'm in Portland, I make it a point to visit Kells, a landmark establishment downtown. I love the atmosphere and decor of the place. The food is consistent and good Irish fare. They have great beers and make a good Black & Tan (or Half & Half, depending on where you're from).

The place also harbors a little known secret for any of you who may be traveling cigar smokers: a small cigar room in the basement. There is a limited house humidor, but you are welcome to smoke your own sticks. It is one of very few indoor venues for cigar smokers in Portland. For those not into the cigar lifestyle, fear not, the room is totally separate and isolated from the restaurant and bar and will not effect your dining/drinking pleasure. You may, however, if you so desire eat and drink down there. If it weren't for a small neon sign, you wouldn't even know the room was there.
(It's located very close to the MAX, so it's easy to get there.)

I recommend Kells for an fun Irish pub experience.

Recommended by the locals. Good not great. Nothing exceptional, but comfortable local place. Excellent service (Zach) and fast kitchen. Lamb stew was very tasty but not a lot of meat. Burger was cooked to order. Happy hours is 4-6:30(?) and several items are discounted food and drink wise. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable cost. Dinner for two w two beers ran $31.00 plus tip. Two blocks from Skidmore station on Red and Blue lines on Trimet. Skeevy area with lots of homeless.

They brew the beer on site and it is all good as is the service. Food is above average for a pub as is the service. Limited seating outside plenty of seats inside or at the bar.

I was disappointed in the quality of my corned beef sandwich (Rueben). I found the meat rather dry and the bread flavorless. Very disappointed!

Neat, cozy place to hang out/grab a bite to eat. Our son had the reuben and said it was one of the best he has ever had. My husband and I had the shepherd's pie. I'm not much for shepherd's pie but their description just sounded good. We weren't disappointed! It's served a bit differently than most. In the middle is a dab of some wonderful tasting brown sauce. It's a little pricey but probably in line with most in the area. Would definitely go again!
