My wife and I went here on a Friday night to see a popular film. We spent $22 for two tickets, a large popcorn, a drink and two slices of pizza. It would have been $40 for the same at some major chain cinema. Plus this place is cool. They show classic films on a regular basis. Parking is tough, but it's Portland --- so walk or bike.

I was recently in Portland and wanted to see Laika's newest film, "Missing Link". I'm so glad I chose this neighborhood theater.
I just loved it, my timing for the matinee was perfect with no wait and ample seating. I rode public transportation so parking was not an issue.
There were numerous families there to see one of the four films showing.

Went here during Christmas trip to Portland. The movie is inexpensive, the food and drink are okay, but the parking can be an issue. Lines to the concession stand can be long, often the concession stand is staffed by one or two overworked folks. So if you are looking for a good place to see a movie, this is one of many places in Portland to get the feel of the old time movie house, but get here early to park and get food. Buy the ticket online and save that line.

Online ticketing system allegedly sold our tickets to another customer an hour after we paid.

Not sure I believe the staff/ manager’s story as they forced my sister and I out of our seats 15 minutes after the movie started.

The so called rightful customer was an abusive bully and her husband (clearly whoever is loudest gets her way). Even if it was a system error, preference should have gone to the first verified purchaser.

I wouldn’t have gone back anyway since it took 20 minutes to park and walk to the theater, 20 minutes in line out in the cold (even with pre-paid seats), and another 20 minutes in line for pizza and snacks.

The theater was not nice or comfortable inside. Yes, the tickets are cheap. But clearly, you get what you pay for!

We decided to see a movie and wanted to support the small local theater. Their credit card system went down and they had no idea what to do next. After waiting in line for 15 minutes we were told cash only. They refused to take a check and did not have a way to process credit cards manually. They directed us to an ATM that had to be one of the most expensive in town. We finally saw the movie, but my husband missed the first scene waiting in line for a drink. Probably won't do that again!

We've always enjoyed this theater- reasonably priced, comfortable, good food and brew available. But they have one person selling admission tickets, which means you can stand out front in line for a long time. If you think you can arrive 15 minutes before your movie, and get inside and seated before the film starts, those days are gone- better plan on 45 minutes, depending on how many popular movies are starting at the same time. Or have plan B ready, in case your movie begins without you.

Add to that the challenge in finding parking in this popular area and we're talking over an hour. Like I said, this is a good theater. But be prepared.

When was the last time you paid $4.00 for a movie ticket!! And could get reasonably priced snacks, pizza, beer? Parking is the challenge, located right in the midst of restaurant options. Please check their website when children can and cannot attend a movie. They have guideline on when children can/cannot come to the theater and I watched two disappointed families being turned away as they were at the theater after 5:30 and minors were not permitted.

Love all of the old theaters in Portland. Laurelhurst is no exception. I recently saw the film Baby Driver there. Although the screens are not as big as some of the smaller movie houses, they are definitely big enough to enjoy movies on the big screen. And probably the cheapest theater in town. Good pizza!

First run and classic movies, good clientele, lots of craft beer taps, freshly baked pizza, pop corn of course, and cheap -- three bucks for the "honored citizen" set. Love the chalk board signs above the entrance to each movie. Also, lots of great restaurants within a block of the place to make for a great evening out.

Beautiful old theater. Watched a special showing of an older film. Good beverages, , pizza, popcorn, all reasonably priced. Parking next door at the clinic after hours and on Saturday and Sunday.
