Murals everywhere. You could regard this place as one of the "hipster" neighborhoods. The place was safe and a lot of shops and restaurants were available along the street.

Not what was described on trip advisor. Perhaps it was nice a long time ago but not anymore. Restaurants had limited hours and streets felt dirty.

We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. The Alberta Arts District emerged as one of our favorites; we enjoyed the many local business on Alberta Avenue, including some great art stores and home stores. Lots of good coffee available, too. The street art on the sides of several buildings was compelling and offered wonderful messages of social justice and compelling photo opportunities. This neighborhood is definitely worth a few hours when visiting Portland!

Alberta Street was a food and street art gem. Lots of varieties to offer from street food to cafes to small eateries with Ethiopian, Nepalese, American, Mexican and more. Little shops with a mix of clothing to unique souvenirs and art work. Plan to browse for a few hours.

I got the feeling this is one of the places that "keeps Portland weird." Murals and bright colors abound on this 13 block street of wonderful stores, restaurants and galleries. Even the trash cans, alleys and power boxes are decorated.

If you're looking at taking in a different side of Portland this artsy area is it. It's nice for an afternoon stroll but many shops were closed so don't expect to spend a day.

There are so many places to eat good food, drink good beer and shop on Alberta street. The art galleries are all unique and host some amazing work! During the summer time they host “ last Thursday” every month where on the last Thursday of the month they shut down multiple streets down Alberta to traffic and it’s turned into a walking fair where people sell their crafts and goods! Don’t worry all of the business are still open during the festivities. Usually there are street performers and musicians to watch as well while you shop.

My husband and I are new to Oregon. We live in Salem and we haven’t checked out Portland yet, so I used trip advisor and I found Alberta st. It’s a great tourist place to walk up and down to have a bite to eat and a drink. There are a lot of ethnic restaurants to choose from, Sushi, Thai, Hawaiian, Iraqi, Mediterranean.
The vibe of the street is really cool and the shops and artwork are worth the drive. So we will definitely come again for a drink and dinner.
