Need a quiet respite from the city? This is it and it is just a few blocks from downtown. I love this place so much that I've kept an annual membership to support these gardens, even though I live 2500 miles away. There is a...More

This is truly a gorgeous gem in the middle of the city! I had walked this part of town a million times and had never stopped. A friend told me we had to go so we did and WOW! It was so serene and magical....More

What a beautiful garden! I recommend just ambling and stopping to relax in the serenity of this wonderful place. I was there during a festival, so it was packed, but somehow it still managed to convey its peacefulness. The little corridors, beautiful plantings, zen gardenscapes,...More

This beautiful little garden offers so many photogenic corners and surprising nooks, it would be a shame to miss it. Add to that its gift shop, small but carefully curated, and it's really a gem not to be overlooked when visiting Portland.

The Chinese Garden and the Japanese Garden are the two most important places to visit in Portland. Add the Pittock Mansion as a third if you have the time. Both gardens are probably the best in the western hemisphere of their types.

This is a stunning and very relaxing place to visit. Even in a small space, there are many things to see and experience. Definitely recommend the tea room!

Very pretty place, but it is in an odd location. Definitely grab a cab to get here. Once inside the city vanishes. The tea room is a great place to just relax. The gardens take about an hour to enjoy at a leisurely pace. The...More

This is an easy place to walk to from downtown Portland. It is a small garden with not much walking but very tranquil and worth the visit. The buildings are authentic Chinese style, with the unique wooden windows and doors. It would be helpful to...More
