This is almost like a hidden garden in the city. It's within walking distance of many of the downtown hotels. I saw it at the beginning of March which was still winter in Portland and even though many of the plants were not fully blooming or leafed out it was still beautiful. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable, but you... More

I wish I could, like Willie Wonka, create a smell-o-vision experience for you. I can tell you that when you enter the gates of this lovely place, you forget you are in the middle of the city. I can tell you that the colors and richness of the flora will make you want to write poetry. However, the smells. They... More

This is a classical Chinese garden, only one square block in the heart of downtown Portland. The garden is serene with places to contemplate the beauty of your surroundings. It changes with the seasons and my favorite is the Chrysanthemum show in fall-The Festival of the 9th Moon. The garden is filled with hundreds of plants in full bloom and... More

Tucked in around high rise buildings. Tour guide said the employees around the area use the gardens during their lunch hour. Very nice place to visit.

We went here on a beautiful sunny, February day. But I would recommend coming back during the spring or summer

So relaxing. The tour guide was great, explained everything. So interesting. Beautiful gardens and Stone patterns. The tea House inside is a just visit, and their food the is spectacular. I'd go again when I visit. Very romantic

This is a beautiful journey to China without leaving the country. It is well worth taking a guided tour as there is so much meaning behind the beauty of each building, bridge, garden and even to the smallest detail of the flowers and plants in the garden. Make sure and treat yourself to tea in the traditional tea house to... More

I throughly enjoyed this gem. Yes it's very small but if you take a free guided tour, you learn a lot and very interesting. Also make sure to have a cup of tea and a moon cake at the tea house. They have many kinds of herbal teas since I cannot have any caffeine. The moon cake was a treat.... More
