This memorial conveys its message very well; for me, it was an emotional experience. On the back are listed deceased family members of local survivors, and some of the lists cover several generations, with multiple members in a generation. Everyone needs to see this memorial.

Regardless of however movies you've seen, this holocaust memorial will move you. The replicas of actual children's toys shattered me to bits. A chilling reminder of the horrors of war and hatred.

A solemn place to visit, but worth your time. Look at everything. Be sure to notice the bronze objects scattered around. Read the walls and reflect. This is a good place to visit with children that are learning about the holocaust in school.

Take a free shuttle to this free memorial after visiting Vietnam Veterans Memorial when you are visiting Washington Park. The inscriptions are reader-friendly yet profound. I am overwhelmed by the experience as they started building the experience even at the rock-road leading to the memorial....More

We happened upon this memorial on our way to the rose garden and I thought it was very well done. There was some history to read which was interesting. Well done.

This is a small memorial but carries a big impact. With brass sculptures of suitcase, violin, teddy bear, and other assorted belongings strewn across a walkway and bench to appear as if left behind, this was very moving. A quote wall as well as a...More

This memorial is designed for you to think and feel the child's perspective of the loss of family members and special belongings. Looking at the sculptures and reading the quotes is sobering. I like how the memorial personalizes to the citizens of Portland who are...More

This memorial is very very well done. It brings home to everyone how very sad the holocaust was. With 'just' one, large wall, describing the horrible era (the NAZI's, the night of broken glass, etc), and some 'well placed' bronzed toys, shoes etc it will...More
