This is a small park, secluded among trees, that includes a memorial to those who died in the Holocaust. There are thoughtful art pieces representing those who died such as toys, a battered suitcase and a violin. There is an explanation of what happened during...More

Being Jewish myself I love to visit memorial sites that have to do with the holocaust and this memorial was beautifully kept and had great artifacts and quotes as well as a rock that states underneath was the soil and ashes from the people killed...More

Quite a serene area, but then you see the art pieces...the doll on the bench; the book, the teddy bear, and suitcase on the walkway. Take some time to read the memorial information, and don't neglect to walk around the back to see the names...More

This memorial is smaller than I thougth. It is basically a wall with a summary of the war and some phrases of the people who were there. It is nice to visit, but not required!

This isn't the kind of thing you "enjoy"...it's the kind of thing you never forget. Just one more thing that gives Portland it's unique flavor and personality. Portlandia won't be filming here.

Set in a garden, this memorial is effective and meaningful. It is worth a visit. I enjoyed visiting on a day with no rain.

Solemnity and heartbreak are emotions that a Holocaust memorial *should* invoke. The memorial can be difficult for a newcomer to the area to find, but once there...the relative isolation of it actually adds to the reverent atmosphere. Beautiful. Poignant. Heartbreaking. And the touches of scattered...More

We actually stumbled upon this by accident, but it was such a treat to see it. Really powerful and beautiful. I didn't really expect to cry in the middle of the afternoon, but alas! It was great though, a nice way to finish off the...More

My husband and I were getting some exercise and decided to walk over to the memorial. We were so delighted with every part of it. There are wonderful small things you see as you walk up to the wall that will really stir your memory....More
