Had some neat little shops but a lot of the larger stores (like Macys) are closing. A work in process

Lots to see and do here. Many eating establishments and local bars. Great to walk around and look, and watch out that you don't stop in too many places and eat. You'll be too full.

Big difference street to street. You walk and see expensive shops, turn a corner and see homelessness and addiction with people sleeping along the sidewalks, turn another corner and see quaint artistic businesses.

Soooo much stuff! So many restaurants and bars. Don't go there hungry or you will see yourself strolling through the streets without knowing what to eat.

They call it the Pearl because it is ugly on the outside but beautiful on the inside. I guess, but I don't see it.

Easy walking with a lot of interesting shops and people. Everybody was friendly. Streetcar runs straight thru so no need to find parking.

I've stayed in this gentrified but still quirkily Portlandia 'hood multiple times and love wandering around, popping into shops and stopping in for a drink or a nibble or both. I've even rented a bike and taken a ride around but be careful of the constant flow of traffic.
