The museum is not very big, but what they do have is very nicely displayed. Displays cover everything from wildlife, to recreation, to management and use of forest products. There is a small theater that shows a short film about how forests are managed. The...More

Our whole family loved this place (AAA discount!). Beautiful building and exhibits are fantastic. The upstairs is the best part (for me). Great international perspective on the importance and meaning of forests. Visitors go on a train ride through Russia, a jeep ride through Africa,...More

I figured Oregon is known for the environment and I should check this out. It is better suited to elementary school kids learning about the trees I think. They have some virtual live experiences such as "riding down the rapids" where they take your photo...More

A great place to learn about the forest. Many interactive exhibits. The art work on the walls and outdoor area are very nice. I could go again as there was so much to see and do.

The world forestry center was very interesting. I think it was geared towards younger children, though. My husband and I did check it out but we didn't stay very long there were a lot of interactive things for children to do.

Visited with three kids, 6, 11 & 14. The place felt very dated, with malfunctioning and dusty displays. All screens suffered from either bad focus or old projector lamps and the more interactive parts have all seen better days. Not worth the money.

No. It is in a whole complex with the zoo and Children's center. There is a subway station in the park though, so if you stay near a station you can get off at the Washington Park stop.

If I purchase a family membership, will it also get us into other venues? Like, Portland Japanese Garden, Oregon Historical Society, Washington County Museum, Rice Northwest Museum of Parks & Minerals, Portland Children's Museum, the Oregon Zoo, etc,.?
