I go a few times a year. The paved paths make it a great place to be outside when other areas are muddy. I visit any season, it is always beautiful. Last time I went I saw a nutria and many heron.

This was our first trip to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens, but it certainly won't be our last! The grounds are meticulously cared for and offer a huge variety of flowering Rhodies and other beautiful blossoms. The typical Pacific NW gatherings of waterfowl consisting of Mallards, Canadian geese, mud hens and Mandarin ducks are plentiful. The bridges are absolutely beautiful... More

I truly love Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden! Rhododendrons are typically in bloom from February to July (with peak boom from late April to early May), but strolling the paths of this garden can be a wonderful, serenity-inducing experience from January 1st to December 31st. Potential visitors with an interest in birds should be aware that Wood Ducks are very conspicuous... More

This is a wonderful park not far from downtown Portland. It's perfect for a warm, sunny, spring day, when the rhododendrons are in bloom, but nice anytime of the year.

Crystal Springs is a great place to visit in the winter. There is no admission charge and the water foul population is outstanding. I took my granddaughter there for a visit and a photography project. She enjoyed the park, ducks, geese and squirrels. Great place to take kids on gloomy Portland winter days!

We took a ride down to the Rhode drone garden to feed the birds, I know you are not supposed to feed them, but my granddaughter can't resist taking something to toss in the pool. I have been in the spring when the flowers are in bloom , it is amazing how big some of the rhodies are. This time... More

This is a beautiful garden with an annual Rhodie competition during Mother's Day weekend. It's always beautiful when the rhodies are blooming (all spring into summer) and is very busy on weekends, especially Mother's Day. It's worth a leisurely stroll and is quite close to Reed College, which has a beautiful campus.

Took a girl on a date here, it's a very beautiful place, the animals here are like hand trained, most will eat out of your hand (although you're not supposed to feed the animals) I was really surprised when a squirrel came up to me. . . And like with its paws checked to see what I had in my... More

This is one of our favorite spots. The garden is beautifully manicured with hundreds of rhododendron plants of all kinds, with a stream and pond dividing up the land into quiet little pockets of nature. In the spring, the rhododendrons and azaleas are beautiful. But the garden has many other kinds of flowers and plants, which bloom through the year,... More
