I love to walk the waterfront when visiting Portland. It's especially fun when the ships are in or a festival is happening. Always lots of activity. Good for walking, biking, Segway, etc.

It is a scenic and beautiful place to walk or run. The walkways are broad and there are many trees and it is clean. You get views of many of the bridges crossing over the river. We stayed at the Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront Hotel...More

Lots and lots of homeless like others have said, but in general they don't bother you. In summer it may be quite nice but on a grey day it's kind of gloomy and depressing. We shot a few pics and that was it.

The cherry trees are blossoming and everyone was out on a bright and sunny day in waterfront park. Beautiful and lots of friendly banter with kids running around, bikes everywhere, nice day.....

No surprise, it was raining in Portland during my visit. I took the time to walk from Downtown to Tom McCall Waterfront Park to walk along the river. It was a really nice way to see Portland, wandering from the Cultural District, through the Pearl...More

The Tom McCall Waterfront Park is a nice place, to take a nice stroll, on a nice Portland day...you'll find some nice, Portland sunny days, every once in a while. Check the weather...watch out for all the big Geese, and more importantly, the big homeless...More

If you have a boat fetish like me, you will cream your jeans on a nice day when you see how many boats are here in the summer.

The waterfront park which is owned by the city of Portland is free except certain events. Even during events, one can still access to the park itself without any charge.
