I really like the room - big, open airy. Probably a former machine shop or something similar. Not "fancy" or over-wrought, just very spacious and genuine. Communal tables as well as smaller ones around the perimeter. One gets the feeling that this is more of a "locals" place as opposed to a touristy one (no knock at all against the bustling beer halls like Deschutes). Good beer selection - we went for an afternoon libation so we didn't get a chance to try the food beyond an order of chips. Tasty beer.

I was disappointed that nobody was there with their dog when we visited, but they are allowed.

Ahh- Lucky Lab. I had the fortunate time of stumbling across this place after a trip to the Rose/Japanese Gardens. I missed turn and some confusion led me to a quiet street with a warehouse on one side- I noted the sign and had to stop. The inside was a cavernous sight, tables were end to end making for a long community like feeling. There were a few dogs who hapilly wagged their tails while the owners sipped on pints of the faboulus beer. I can't imagine a more wonderful place to sit and drink, perhaps play a game with friends and snack on the wonderful food that is prepared on site. If you have a moment stop in for a drink and enjoy the place- that is, afterall, what it's there for.

Since the addition of Cako, most of my dining places must be dog friendly. She goes pretty much everywhere. We were meeting up with some friends and they suggest Lucky Labradors. Great back patio area separated by smoking and non.

You order inside, and they bring it out. Got a really good Hef and the ginormous club sandwich. I thought they could've been a little more creative with the chips. One of my friends got the bento, which I thought was unique considering this is far from a Japanes restaurant. Tonight's had chicken curry which I was told had just the right flavors.

Staff is friendly! More dogs showed up as the evening went on. This is a really good place to come with your four legged family.

And Cako Approves!

Since the Lucky Lab in Multnomah Village has not reviews on Trip Advisor, here is their first.

A total disaster of an evening caused by uppity staff!

Our family eats at the North Portland Lucky Lab on a regular basis. Our two boys LOVE the Big Dog pizza!
We were in the Multnomah area last night and decided to stop in to that Lucky Lab for dinner instead of driving home to eat.
There was no question what we would order, The Big Dog.
When it arrived it did not look like a Big Dog. There was broccoli on top. YUCK!!!!
I mean, broccoli? We were certain we had received the wrong pizza an approached a woman who delivered it to our table and pointed out the mistake.
She was very rude and told us that "That is how we make the Big Dog here. Didn't you read the menu." Well, NO! When we order a Big Dog at a Lucky Lab, we sort of thought a Big Dog was a Big Dog. She continued to try and make us look like idiots and very begrudgingly said she would make us a new one, pointing out that "she was GIVING us a $27 pizza for OUR mistake." I have never seen someone so rude.
Well the rest of the staff hopped on the rude ban wagon and I felt like I had to keep my eyes on the person making our pizza to make sure it was not spat on.
When the pizza was delivered she did her best to continue to berate us. She literally dropped it in front of my 11 and 12 year old. When they said "thank you", she grunted and walked away.
I had had enough. I went up to the counter where they were STILL talking about the "idiots" at that table. I called the woman over and told her I did not appreciate her attitude and the attitude of the other staff when all we wanted was a pizza made without broccoli to feed our kids. We had been polite to her up until that point and maintaining that attitude was getting tougher. Another grey haired old guy that works there headed my direction with a "I am going to punch your lights out look", but he was turned back by the woman with whom I was speaking. She told me tat she was "the only one of the staff that wanted to remake our pizza." the others "wanted to throw us out with our broccoli."
The people at the table next to us could not believe how this woman and the other staff were treating us.
Needless to say, we will NEVER, EVER, eat at this location again. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and customer service is not in their vocabulary. Treating a family with young kids they was they did was totally unacceptable and each and every one of them working last night should be fired.

We came here because we were meeting some other TA members in Dec 2008. As described below, it is a large open room with long rows of tables and a concrete floor. Very basic decor, order at the counter.

The beer selection is very large, and the pleasant fellow at the counter gladly described them and gave us a free taste or two to help us make our selections.

They serve mainly sandwiches and soups. Our sandwiches were only okay, nothing special. The soup was quite good.

They were not super busy when we were there, but due to the acoustics in the room, it was still very loud. It was hard to hear the person sitting across the table or on the other side of the person next to you.

Between the table arrangement and the noise, it's probably very close to a true old fashioned "beer hall" atmosphere.

This was our 1st experience at any of Lucky Lab's locations and it was a lot of fun. We were there on Worst Day Bike Ride so the place had lots of extra atmosphere; many of the riders were gathering there for after-ride food/drinks. It's not a food destination, but the offerings are very inexpensive ($8.00 or so--served w/chips) and approachable. My club sandwich was filling, although it could have used mayo or something to make it less dry. The Black Lab Stout & Stumptown Porter were tasty; spouse's Super Dog IPA is solid. Seating in picnic table style. Not sure what's outside for seating. The building is a converted industrial/commercial warehouse, which adds to the ambiance. It's absolutely worth stopping here. We look forward to enjoying on of LL's other eateries.

We went for a drink and a snack, and yes, to get our dog fix. My son and hubby ordered some beer, and I ordered the home brewed ginger ale. The beers were fine, and the ginger ale wasn't bad although I would have liked it a bit stronger. My son also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which came on White Bread. Just plain old boring white bread, not even a Sourdough. It was just okay, nothing special. My husband and I ordered the bowl of pretzels. When my son sandwich came there were no pretzels in sight. They had messed up the order. No big deal we got her bowl and again nothing I couldn't have bought in a bag from the grocery store across the street. We had been hoping they would offer a fresh warm pretzel but that was not to be.

The service was also pretty mediocre. The guy behind the bar wasn't very friendly, no smile nothing. The menu Isn't particularly large and we weren't very excited about the choices. Hummus and bread? Hummus and pita bread I could understand, but when I asked he told me it was just the ends of the white bread. Not very interesting. Overall I would say our experience here was mediocre.

Coolest re-envisioned Christina's World is on a back wall. Worth going for that alone. Come here if you are a dog lover. The beer is good. The atmosphere makes you want to sit and stay. For a very long time.

This brewpub is located in the Hawthorne neighborhood so it's offbeat nature of allowing dogs and their owners to freely roam about in the outside back patio area and enjoy a meal and beer. The brewpub had quite a selection of home brewed beers its food menu was mainly sandwiches and salads. If you are into collecting bar coasters theirs was nicely designed. Seating is pretty much open to picnic tables
