OK, so conditions weren't ideal when I went -- windy and icy with persistent wet snow (i think they call it sleet) most of the day, making for challenging visibility at times - but the whole experience was positive, from the easy parking to the smooth rental process (we rented all our equipment). The lift lines were totally manageable (this... More

April 17th and it is still snowing and ski season up here :) as it is the end of the season and the middle of the week - we had the slopes almost all to ourselves. All of the Mt. hood ski areas are great (Skibowl, Timberline and The Meadows). The rental facilities and lessons for both skiers and snowboarders... More

We visited on the Friday of the 3 day weekend in February and were expecting slow lines and crowded slopes. The parking lot was full, but even at capacity we never had to wait for a chair. The prices for lift tickets were appropriate in comparison to other similar ski resorts. The terrain is great for experienced skiers and boarders... More

I visited on a late season Monday so the skiers were few and far between which made for a lonely day on the slopes. However, when snow started falling shortly after noon it didn't get tracked, making for a late-season powder day! Facilities are efficient and very nice! I rented skis and the rental staff was much better than I've... More

We have an abundance of ski areas in the Pacific Northwest. There is also a huge difference between what those ski areas offer. Hood Meadows is a great place for family skiing, snow boarders and on the occasional sunny day, everyone else. It's terrain is not very steep, so if you into a lot of vertical, you'll be disappointed in... More

Plenty of snow, plenty of powder, and plenty of challenging skiing, with enough blacks and double blacks with steep tree skiing in the powder. Snowed all day for us, keeping the powder fresh. But the mountain had plenty of variety. Even over the course of a full day, we didn't ski it all. Was very windy at the top of... More

This is my second time to Mt Hood Meadows. The wind can pick up here near the southwest end but otherwise, it makes for great skiing! We got there right at opening so the parking lot was getting a little full. they do have a shuttle that comes around but not frequently enough. We ended up walking to the lodge.... More

My family (wife, 21 year old snowboarding son, 10 year old skiing son, 9 year old skiing daughter) and I visited here over the new year break. Unfortunately it was a bit too windy to try out the far left side (open area with lots of blues). We all enjoyed the mountain and loved the great views! We stayed in... More

Took our kids to MHM for a Sunday of skiing. Despite the great weather and snow, and the pre-Holiday weekend, we didn't have to wait in a single line (unless you count traffic). The number of lifts and runs spread out over the mountain ensure that everyone has a favorite run to ski or snowboard without being crowded. There are... More

My wife and I came to Mount Hood Meadows for a summer Hiking Photography Workshop. After a short introduction, the class rode the Stadium Express to the top and then explored along the Timberline Trail. The instructor gave us lots of useful suggestions for photo composition and some technical ideas for adjusting our cameras for different types of scenery. After... More
