One of the many spots along Highway 101 to take in the sights of the ocean. This is a beautiful vantage point to take in the ocean. When the tide is high the waves crash through the Devils Punch Bowl and this is a spectacular site.

Storms and shifting clouds. Layer, bring water and great shoes. Prepare to be drizzled upon. Dogs will love to romp on the beach (have leash close by and an obedient fog)...be prepared for rainbows, surfers and amazing shifts of light. Take a break and enjoy the landscapes.

So it was AWESOME to see the punch bowl in this type of weather. We enjoyed the scenic drive and the walk around the area was easy.

We pulled off to see this on a drive between Newport and Depoe Bay. It was halfway between the high and low tides so the water activity and the bowl was not really anything remarkable to see. The water crashing into the shoreline was cool but better shows for that is 10 minutes up the road at Boiler Bay Wayside.... More

High tide causes a churning of tumultuous waters. Beautiful sight. Low tide allows exploring the bowl and all of the tide pools created.

Cool to see and worth the short drive. Glad we stopped as the Punchbowl is an Oregon Coast landmark. Unfortunately, we were there at low tide so the waves crashing inside the Punchbowl were not as impressive as some of the pictures I've seen. However, the surrounding scenery was beautiful. It was very chilly and rainy when we were there... More

We were staying in Newport and decided to drive to Heceta Head. So glad we did! The views along the highway are amazing! Devils Punchbowl is gorgeous, with lots of interesting geographical features.

This also a creation of Mother Nature which is amazing, but when the tide is calm and out, its not all that Devilish... but you can see how dangerous it could be in nasty weather - and why its called the Devils Punchbowl. If you are going along the Oregon Coast, its a must stop to see!

We went specifically so my husband could photograph the Devils Punchbowl. We couldn't believe the impressive waves of the whole area, and enjoyed spending time there and taking pictures.

The tide was going out when we arrived. Didn't have time to wait, so we enjoyed it from above. The vistas are amazing! I could have stayed there longer. Next time will be sure to check the local tides.
