This was my least favorite lighthouse on the coast. We didn't even stop after seeing the tower beside it. It looks like a lifeguard station. Some of the pictures here are not accurate. They show the Yaquina Head lighthouse. The Bay is the one with boarded up windows and looks more house like.

Beautiful even in the rain! Not a difficult walk up, but I think you can park at the top! Nice side trip!

We didn't stop here when we drove south but decided to pull in on the way back north. Glad we did. It was $7 to enter and there is a small visitors center. Worth the time and we really enjoyed the scenery. It was like it was carved out of solid rock.

We love visiting this lighthouse! So beautiful and the variety of birds and seals to see from it make it even better. We also went down to cobble beach, always an amazing experience to see the tide pools and collect the driftwood.

Since this was the top rated thing to do, we had to check it out and sure am glad we did. Although the weather was nasty and the lighthouse was closed for inside viewing the experience and views was still amazing! We are in hopes of returning in better weather and hopefully be able to tour the inside.

We enjoyed this historical site. It is free to visit and they have preserved this place and the furniture from an era long ago. There is a little gift shop down stairs if your interested in that kind of stuff. Incidentally, this place is located close to the water which provides fantastic views of the water and the bridge.

I entitled this" the second lighthouse", because I did not know there was an older Yaquina Lighthouse which is now a historical treasure. This lighthouse is different from the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in that it is restored with period furniture showing how the family would have lived there. I found it fascinating.
