The lighthouse is easily accessible by car, or you can walk from the visitors center. There are restrooms. It is perched high above the ocean so you get great views North, West and South. Bring binoculars and you may get to see whales. This attraction...More

Not to be confused with the Yaquina (pronounced "Ya-kwee-na") Head Lighthouse a few miles away, this lighthouse was only in service a few years while the Yaquina Head light was being constructed (1873). Unlike the National Park complex at Yaquina Head, this lighthouse was saved...More

Nice visit with a couple of trails. Lighthouse tour only offered in the afternoon, but nice. Nice visiters center. Plenty of wildlife. Whales, falcons. Nice views. Worth a stop.

Beautiful sights. But alas it was closed when we went to see it and nearest guided tour was 3 days away. We wouldn't be around then. Staff were excellent very knowledgeable.

We visit the Oregon Coast over Easter every year, while I knew we wouldn’t be able to tour the lighthouse, since we were there off-season, I didn’t think they’d have a locked gate to keep you from seeing it up close. Grounds and views are...More

This place has a very nice view and you can whale watch and visit the small visitor center off the parking lot.

Enjoyed visiting the light house and seeing the whale and seals in the water below. Great vista for photos.

Nice place to visit, except in cold windy weather. Access to the lighthouse and was able to climb up to the light floor (could look into room but could not access). Got a up close view of the light system.

A short drive off the west side of highway 101, just north of the Newport city limits, this is a worthwhile place to drive through, but ideally to get out of one's vehicle, walk around, and take in the wonderful views.

The Lighthouse brings sailors light to dangerous coast. The history of lost ships due to lack of light on rocks is enormous. Today automatic but still doing its job.

There is a link for reserving time for the tours. There is no cost per se for the tour after the $7/car fee for park entry. Please do internet search for Yaquina Head lighthouse tours. Site won't let me post directly for... More

It says open daily on their web site but it would be hard to believe that it is open in Christmas. It appears it would be open during the rest of break.
