Off the road loop takes you here, good view of the lighthouse, but you cannot get in. Unknown why someone said this was a paid experience- free for us, nice ocean views too. Park is worth a walk - bring water.

I'm still not sure why this is a paid experience as you can't go IN the lighthouse like you can others. Giving 3 stars because the interpretive center was cool

At low tide you can walk down the stairs to the tide pools. This has been the BEST tide pools that I have gone to by far!! When I went there were the seal pups out on the rocks. The guides that are down below...More

Self guided tour of lighthouse with an informative short video and wonderful docents. Spend time paying attention to details and reading the interpretive signs. I found the hair arts and crafts interesting and beautiful. The park has nice picnic areas, free parking, paths to the...More

the $7.00 day fee for this park puts it on the "must see" list, the light house is great, the black pebble beach makes a amazing " applause" sound when the waves come in and the wildlife viewing is spectacular

We love lighthouses but have found most of them hard to visit and impossible to photograph. This one is right by the road and there is ample parking to look over the ocean one way and the lighthouse the other. Very nice drive.

One of Oregon's oldest lighthouses, it was in operation for less than three years; 1871-1873. It closed when the lighthouse at Yaquina Head (4 miles north) opened in 1873.

What a wonderful site to visit!! The volunteers and historical society have done an amazing job job of restoring this treasure to its original beauty. All the rooms are well laid out with period items and you can explore unfettered. We absolutely loved it. It...More

Very nice state park. Great views and nice staff. While we were there, there were some rangers with scopes set up so we could have close up views of seals and birds. Lighthouse is beautiful, but tours of it are sort of limited. There were...More

There is a link for reserving time for the tours. There is no cost per se for the tour after the $7/car fee for park entry. Please do internet search for Yaquina Head lighthouse tours. Site won't let me post directly for... More

It says open daily on their web site but it would be hard to believe that it is open in Christmas. It appears it would be open during the rest of break.
