We didn't get to use the Aquatic Center - it was closed for the season by the time we were in town, but the picnic facilities were very nice. We were in town for a relative's 50th Anniversary Party and were using the larger covered picnic area (there are smaller one-table covered picnic areas scattered around the park) which had plenty of tables a nice big sink for food prep or clean up, and the cleanest wheeled garbage bins I have ever seen! We were just there to visit with family but I couldn't help being impressed with how clean everything was. The public restrooms were clean and well-stocked. The pathways were clear and well-maintained. The playground equipment was easy to get to and kept a dozen or more small children happily engaged for most of the afternoon.
Large trees provided shade and beauty and I was surprised to see spotless wasp-traps up in several of the trees - something else that must require close attention and nimble workers. There was ample parking near the covered picnic area and playground. There were even road signs from the main highway directing traffic to the park. If I were to make any suggestions it would be to provide a sidewalk from the parking area to the covered picnic area to make things easier for the wheelchair bound - it was possible to get there via sidewalks from the roadside to the covered parking area but not a direct route from the parking area.
We would definitely go to this park again. It was exactly what we needed. Milton-Freewater is a great town and I love having an excuse to hang out there.

This park has lots of attractions. It is geared on sports.
First of all there is a playground. There is a swimming pool and there is a slide to get into the swimming pool.
There is baseball as well and tennis. In fact there is a stadium.
There are also horse shoes.
The best part is that when we walk to the top, we can see a beautiful view.
A must see!

I love this place. Living nearby, I am fortunate to have this beautiful little park to enjoy. The City and Community take great pride in keeping this park green and beautiful.
There are dozens of towering trees to provide shade in the spring and summer, plus beautiful color in the fall. There are picnic tables, clean restrooms, a children's play area, and (during the summer) a fun swimming pool/waterpark. There is also a walking trail that surrounds the park - perfect for a leisurely stroll. For the more adventurous, there is a steep uphill climb to a hilltop that provides a scenic vista of the area.
Stop by Sub Shop #38 for the best sandwich in town, drive over to the park for a picnic, and enjoy some peace and quiet. You won't regret it.

We decided that we wanted to go to the drive-in in Milton-Freewater, Oregon and found out that they had an aquatic center, so we made a day of it. The cost is ony $18 for the family or $3 per child 17 and under/ $4.50 for adults.
There are two slides, spiral and speed types. My older two children thoroughly enjoyed these slides and were constantly on them. Considering that we were there mid-week during the afternoon session and that we were in a small city, there wasn't a wait. The minimum height requirement for both slides is 48". There is a large area for the kids to swim and a kiddie area with a zero depth entrance, frog slide, and a couple of other water features (see pictures). My four year old was bummed about not being able to use the big slides, but had a blast anyways. They do not allow parents to take children down the slides, which was a bummer.
There is also a sandy area for kids to play with a couple of ride-on toys and in another section is a volleyball net. Had I known this, I would have brought along sand toys. At the entrance/exit of the sand area, there is a shower/rinse-off area. Very well thought out!
We brought food with us inside, but I didn't check their policy. There are a few tables with umbrellas near the concession area and plenty of lounge chairs lined up around the pool. There is also a covered area with picnic tables. I opted to put our towels under a small shade tree near the sandbox.
There a few reasons that I only gave this an average rating. The first one is that I didn't want people to think that this aquatic center was on par with the larger theme-park aquatic centers. This, however, is an excellent community pool. Second, I found that two of the life guards were a bit snippy with me. I treat people respectfully and expect the same in return. One of the life guards saw that my son was climbing UP the small frog slide and was quite rude in his attitude toward me. I correct my son, and thanked the young man. His attitude changed when I returned his rudeness with kindness. My children and husband said that another guard was also rude to them. I think that there needs to be a tact-lesson for these employees. If it had only been one guard, I'd have given this attraction four stars.

Muddy-Frogwater Festival is always a treat in August. The park is clean, nicely shaded, and usually not crowded...except during Muddy-Frogwater Festival. They could use a little more parking but otherwise it was a nice experience. The live music was a little loud (what's that you say? Speak up.) but good. A visit to the park this time of year makes autumn seem a bit closer. If you want a pleasant quiet walk in the park avoid the M-F Festival. But if you want good food, good music, lots of vendors, and a good time, don't miss it.

Living here, we are able to go there quite often and do. There is a paved trail that circles the park for those that want to use it for laps. There is a tennis court, pool and 2 ball fields. Lots of picnic tables, 3 covered cook areas, swings and climbing equipment for the kids and countless trees that shed so many leaves in the fall, some of the kids take rakes and make piles for jumping in.
If you want a walk that uses your muscles, there is a pave trail that goes up the hill with bench seating along the way for resting. When you get to the top, there is a covered picnic table and a fantastic view not only of the town but also the gold course next door. You get a beautiful view of the Blues and on a really clear day, you can see the Columbia River off in the distance.
