We had read information about the Spruce Goose in Mcminnville, Oregon and finally had time to go. We did not expect to see such a grand display of aircraft, along with movies, beautiful grounds surrounding the buildings, and other family activities. It was almost overwhelming...More

This was an accidental discovery but one we are pleased not to have missed. What a superb museum. It covers both aircraft and space travel and has a great number of planes and helicopters as well as a comprehensive area devoted to space travel. It's...More

This museum is in a little city SSW of Portland and is truly a sleeper....While the advertised, MAIN attraction is Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose, it far exceeds just that attraction. I was actually assigned to the SR-71 Program back in the mid '60's while in...More

The museum is full of airplanes. It was full of very informative volunteers that enhanced our visit. My aviation nerd family spent over 5 hours there. We paid for the 15 minute spruce goose tour. It was great to have a personal guide. We got...More

The big draw is the Spruce Goose, the largest seaplane. Do not miss the IMAX movies one of which is included in admission.

Yes there is a snack bar type of restaurant. We left and got lunch elsewhere and came back in on the same ticket. I think they stamped our hand if I remember. We did have to do something before we left
