Manzanita Beach is a beautiful walking beach. You can walk for miles on hard packed sand. There are times when the fog comes over the beach and walking becomes a surreal experience. Be aware that the water is cold and it's not a great beach for swimming, unless you have a wet suit (at least for this easterner!). There are a few tide pools to explore. The beach is dog-friendly, and most dog owners are very responsible about pick ups and dog behavior. On windy afternoons it is a great place for kiteboarding. One downside is that you might encounter dead sea birds on the beach. People were incredibly courteous and friendly.

We visited both Seaside and Cannon Beach before traveling to Manzanita. Manzanita's beach is much less crowded and offers more potential for beach-combers to find something worth keeping. My first 10 minutes there I found three whole sand dollars and in the past I've found live crabs walking around. There's also more parking available with minimal walking.

Family and dog friendly beach. It was fun! Would recommend this beach to anyone visit the Oregon coast. Easy to access from street parking.

You can get to it from the park, or at the end of any street that ends at it. I heard you can drive on it, but I didn't see any cars. There were dogs running around, and lots of driftwood and shells

We visit Cannon Beach and Manzanita quite often. We love them both but each has their pros and cons. Manzanita is absolutely stunning and rarely crowded but it can often be quite windy so check on the weather before heading there.

this is a great beach to walk. From the north end, which runs into the side of Neahkahnie Mountain, to the south end, which runs into the mouth of the Nehalem River, it is about 7 miles, so there is always plenty of room.

this is an incredibly beautiful beach with less crowds then the Cannon Beach area. the beach has very few people during the day but gets an older walking crowd early evening and at sunset. definitely worth a trip.

Manzanita is much quieter than Cannon Beach which gives it a more quaint feel. Great beach to walk on for miles and lovely scenery. Can’t wait to come back!

The town of Manzanita a little quieter and less crowded than nearby Cannon Beach. The same is true of their beach.
You don't get the views of giant monoliths, but you also don't get as large of crowds. The beach is very easy to walk on and is great for kids and/or dogs.

Beautiful beach for strolling and spending the day picking up sand dollars! We will be back sooner rather than later

I live within a mile of this beautiful 7 mile beach. Walking the beach you will see kites flying, people wind surfing and families enjoying time with their children. Manzanita is a small town with cute shops and several nice places to eat. Within a mile or two is the Nehalem State park for campers, yurts available too. Short sand beach is very popular but parking during the summer can be difficult. Cannon Beach is 15 miles away with Haystack rock, many shops and great food. Always something to do in our area even in the raining winter months.

Where's the best place to park for access, and where are the closest public restrooms?
Written 14 June 2018
There’s street parking along the beach frontage road. The closest public restroom is at the visitors center. The staff at the visitors center is very friendly and helpful.
