If you visit the park, don’t go where the tourists go. Turn left onto the road just past the blue tidewater condos, near the bridge, and park at the gravel spaces provided. My dog Hunter loves running around the driftwood, smelling critters, and playing fetch in the Siletz Bay. Please be aware of seals - they are not the best play dates for Fido!

This is one of the smallest parks I've ever visited, but for a photography buff, it is a veritable playground of beauty and opportunity. The bay changes with the tide, but on a clear day you can see driftwood, a variety of birds and beautiful sunsets. And, free is a good price.

Siletz Bay is an excellent place to bring the family, I live near here and it is the best and easiest place to to go clamming during low tide. You can dig your limit of clams in 20 minutes. It is great for stand up paddle boarding, crabbing, swimming, fishing(at the head of the Siletz River), picnicking, sandcastles building, rafting, kayaking, and your less then 25 yards from shops and restaurants. It is just off the 101.

The water is clear and beautiful, the sand is warm, driftwood galore, and the seals are a blast to watch. A great place to be on the beach and the wind is not as harsh because it is a protected inlet. The seals are smart to make their home there. Go to Mo's if you are hungry for clam chowder since it sits right on the bay.

I used to live in Taft, years ago. At that time I went to Siletz Bay Park almost daily. So a recent visit from New Mexico definitely took me back to the bay. Loved it. Easy beach access from car. Sea Lions across the way. Lots of driftwood. Crabbing and fishing for those who want, and agates at every low tide. A perfect beach stop.

What we love about this beach is that it is in an area protected by a small spit of land that offers shelter from the wind. From the parking area you walk rights towards a pier and the beach stretches out in front of you. On the sandy banks of the spit across the bay we always see seals basking on the shore or swimming in the water. There is lots driftwood, rocks, and some shells to collect so kids will enjoy it here. Mo's restaurant is located on the water here, so if you did not bring a picnic you can grab a meal. You can continue walking for a long way down the beach, but once you turn the corner you are often walking into a strong headwind. If you want a nice beach to visit that is somewhat protected from the strong winds that often occur here, then this is the place to go!

...into "Taft" Historic District and drive down the road to Taft Bay, where the river meets the Pacific. Hundreds of seals were basking on the beach and playing in the shallow water with the sea gulls. Really neat to see them all bobbing in the water! There were kids fishing for crab when we were there and very funny to see the gulls trying to lay claim to their catch!! Also a very nice beach to walk along the coast!

This is another must do for everyone. Hang out and watch the seals, build a fire in the evening among huge pieces of driftwood and watch the sunset and stars.....Beautiful and unique spot to explore and beachcomb or crab.
Park and have clam chowder at Mo's which has a great view of the bay and beach.....great little beach shops all in easy walk distance and parking is great..
Don't miss it!

stay for sunset...well worth it. Nice during day but best when the sun sets. Clean beach and not terribly crowded.
