This was our second visit to Wallowa Tramway and we returned because we like the hiking at the top. The "main route" for hiking is under 2 miles but there are additional hikes that will take you up the mountain farther. The view is wonderful...More

The ride up on the tram is not my favorite part - I don't like heights. However, the hike around the top and the cute, personable animals are worth the trip up. Make sure to take a bag of raw, unsalted peanuts. You will be...More

The ride is a thrill and the views at the top are awesome! It seems that morning is the time to go if you want a quieter time to take in the views. By lunchtime it can be quite busy. Look for the unmarked spring...More

This was a fun excursion up a 8000ft mountain. The views were amazing and the trails on top just about the right length. We headed up early and had breakfast at the top which was fun. This was a bit spendy but something I would...More

Our trip up the tram was absolutely fantastic. The trails and view are great. We also went paragliding off Mt Howard with Wallowa Paragliding it is a must do if you are in the area.

It was not cheap (cost us $60 for two adult tickets), but the hiking trails at the top of the mountain afforded beautiful views and the tram ride up was fun. We thought it was worth the cost.

You must take a tram ride. The steepest vertical incline in the continental USA is really a kick! and the view from the top--priceless!
