We had tried some of the wine at a party and enjoyed it so when we were driving to Jacksonville we took the turn and drove out to Cowhorn winery. The winery sign wasn't easily visible but we found it. They just finished a new lovely tasting room. The vineyard and all the buildings are biodynamic and everything is recycled.... More

I'm somewhat new at the business of visiting wineries, seeing my visits less as entertainment and more akin to going to the store to shop for something special. And so, on this occasion, I was at Cowhorn to buy some of the delicious Syrah 20 I'd had the evening before at a restaurant in Ashland. I ended up buying more... More

We have stopped to visit them while in Jacksonville (OR). We had only a remote idea of the great praises their wines have received in the recent past... we had a really nice tasting experience (the new building is beautiful) and left with a couple of bottles... While their reds are a bit pricy, they are also simply amazing! Definitely... More

Our group of four recently stopped by the Cowhorn Vineyard for a tasting. The $15 tasting fee seemed high but it was applied to our purchase of only one $45 bottle of wine. We happened to be the only people at the winery during our tasting so we were able to ask as many questions as we liked. The tasting... More

For the serious wine taster in Southern Oregon, this is a must! The most sophisticated, educational, and high quality tasting experience I have had in the Southern Oregon area to date. Yes, Cowhorn’s tasting fee is higher than most in this young-growing wine region, but based on the experienced and educated staff alone, the $15 fee is well worth it.... More

We had great hopes for this winery. However, the pretentious atmosphere and elitist attitude of the staff were off putting. They are obviously more concerned with image than customers. And the wine, while well crafted, is not exceptional in the region. We tried to locate the tasting room but there was no sign and when we informed them that we... More

This winery had been highly recommended to us, but still it took us by surprise! I recommend it highly for their thoughtful practices and terrific wines. I will say that if you like Syrahs this is a producer that you must try at the tasting room! If you don't like Syrahs then you have to try this because it will... More

Wonderful Viogniers and Syrahs and not to mention a biodynamic vineyard! They have a fabulous wines in a nice relaxing setting. We sat up on their patio and set our kids and their picnic down below. Dog and kid friendly.

Such a relaxing time on their deck overlooking the vineyards, watching the family of ducks on the pond and the colorful birds flitting about. Oh yes, the wine! Our favourites were the Voignier and the Syrah. We bought both. It will be even better when their new tasting room opens and serves some food. Might even go again tomorrow!

We are big lovers of Viognier, and often have a hard time finding a good one. The grounds of this winery are beautiful, and the new tasting room, which was in the final stages of its construction when we were there, looked fantastic. We thoroughly loved their Viognier, bought several bottles, and are considering joining the wine club. We found... More
