Spring gets all your gear customized to fit you perfectly, setting you up for success and carefuly checks up on the dynamic wind forcasts to make sure you have the conditions you need. Have had two previous lessons, one in Hood River and the other in Maui. The lessons with Kite The George, and our instructor Hunter, were by far the best. Co-owner Carlos spent a good 20 minutes with me on the phone talking about skills and expectations. He was very clear what the lessons would involve and the cost. I highly... More

Carlos and his instructors run a first class kiting school. High end Slingshot equipment, a focus on safety and self-reliance and a willingness to let you progress as fast as you can make this a great choice for new kiters.. Took my teen son and I for a 2 day lesson and the experience surpassed every expectation that we had.... More

My experience...I wakeboard, snowboard, surf, and love all the extreme sports and I always wanted to kite surf, so I took a lesson in... More

The Hood River Gorge can be a bit complicated being that there is over 7 different kite schools, hundreds of kiteboarders and windsurfers combined in the river at times, and overall a lot going on. Before going to Kite the Gorge i had never flown a kite or been around Kiteboarding at all, so granted I needed a lot of... More

Once i got to hood river the wind blew and we had time for a 3 hour lesson. These guys and gals know what they are doing and have the resources... More

Found taking kite boarding lessons here was a enjoyable experience. It is on the "Spit" away from all the wind surfers and crowds. Relaxed but serious instruction. Took lessons with my son and nephew. Safety instruction was covered and helpful. Kids were up and riding quickly. I took a little longer. Lessons were tailored to skill levels. Instructors and owner,... More

This is the best kite school in the Gorge. Great prices and gear make it very reasonable! Super fun and personable staff will make sure you are riding and having fun in no time!
