Took the wee bairns to the Mt. Hood Railroad's Dinosaur Train theme'd ride. It was a blast. The kids really enjoyed the experience. There was a short train ride and games, songs and lots of fun to be had. I have heard they've done the same for Sodor and Thomas which I need to keep an eye out for... Anyhoo,... More

My kid watches the Dinosaur Train on TV occasionally and when we saw this in the local paper being organized by Mt Hood Railroad we got very excited. So we booked last minute online - I thought I had selected the right date but it does not let you book last minute and it defaulted to the next available date... More

We enjoyed this journey through such scenic areas. As a rail buff it was even better traveling by train to view the sights.

WE got tickets for the vista dome car. We had great views of the countryside and Mt Hood. The lunch was topnotch. It tasted very good and the servers were very professional. The extra money we paid for the train car and food was well worth the money. the conductor and narrator gave lots of info about the train and... More

The train goes a comfortable speed which allows you to have great conversations and take in beautiful views. If you go in the dome car the lunch was pretty good. We are going back to take the murder mystery train and possibly the Polar Express around Christmas.

We enjoyed riding through the hills out of Hood River to the little community of Parkdale. We were in the dome car and we felt for the extra $ it was definitely worth it. Just being up allowed us to view so much more than our friends who rode down below. The lunch was included in our fare and was... More

We had a great ride up the valley and enjoyed walking around Parkdale. The steep $1 entry fee to the Museum was the best bargain of the weekend. We sat in an observation car and Thomas, our porter was polite and engaging with everyone on our car. Juan, our conductor was infectiously gracious and entertaining. Our narrator for the journey... I took my elderly mom on the trip for her birthday. We went in the bubble topped car and it was fantastic. It was climate controlled, clean and very comfortable.

Went on the Hood River to Parkdale leg, and enjoyed the ride. Nice views of Mt. Hood. The train goes approximately 12 miles an hour. Definitely not a bullet train. (Little hint; when the train starts, if you are facing the direction of travel, in about ten minutes, the train goes on a switch-back track, resulting in a forward facing... More
