Portland and Vancouver trip

Beautiful drive. Take time to drive both highways. we will go back when we have more time. Lots of waterfalls and dams. In Feb not to much open, but falls are spectacular.

This will be a VERY bias opinion of the Columbia River Gorge as I love it there... I enjoy the atmosphere of the Gorge, the locals, the Tourist and the views. After over 45 years of fishing, hiking, viewing, wandering and enjoying all that the Gorge has to offer will continue to grow and I will always be able to... More

Loved this area. Did not stay long enough! Stayed at Vagabond Inn ( Westcliff Inn) ; beautiful picture window overlooking grounds and river. Downtown Hood River had nice restaurants. Beautiful place.

What a beautiful part of the world! Unique, with Mt Hood to the south and Mt Adams to the north. The windsurfing capital of the world.

Love, love, love the Columbia River Gorge. It actually reminded us of scenery when we cruised Alaska. The water, mountain, trees, and waterfalls are just gorgeous. So serene, so magnificent! I want to visit again so we can hike.

gorgeous views of the river, waterfalls, great hiking and even a coffee shop to stop at along the way. We went in the winter months and really enjoyed the ice and not many people.

The drive down the Columbia River Gorge is beautiful! So many beautiful waterfalls, river vistas, gorges, etc. I am very glad we took the time to make the drive during our summer road trip. If you are in the area, and have the time, this side trip is highly recommended. We started in Washougal and made it a quick trip... More

I drive I-84 from Pendleton to Portland every summer on my way to the coast and it never fails to amaze me. This is the most spectacular drive in America if you take time to stop and see all the views, go down to the river, see the several waterfalls, stop at the dams, and just enjoy the air. A... More
