Spotted the lighthouse down the coast, while stopping to see if we could check out the Sea Lion Cave. So we drove up and found the most beautiful cove with a short hiking trail up to the lighthouse. Perfect for watching the sunset and just wandering around. Don't miss it!

The main attraction is the picturesque lighthouse with its brightest light on the coast, and you can get a free tour of the ground floor during regular hours. But the park is gorgeous too, and worth some time to explore. You enter off 101, and both roads lead to the parking lot along the beach. One side takes you under... More

not a big lighthouse viewer but the park was nice. This was a little more interesting because of the light itself. We did not take a tour and were there when raining so I suspect this influences my average rating ;)

Ask a volunteer..... for info about the lighthouse, the trails, the B&B. The lighthouse is a tribute to the state for keeping the important treasures of the people and its history.

If you are on the southern Oregon coast, do try to visit the Heceta Head lighthouse! The word "picturesque" doesn't even come close! The best long-distance view of the lighthouse and keeper's house (now a B&B!) is from the highway, south, looking north. A great photo op. It cost us $5 to park in the lot. The walk up to... More

Just remember that the hours are until 4:00pm. We got there at 4:30pm and could only take pictures of the outside.

Walk up the stairs and enter a real lighthouse keepers home, totally furnished with turn of the century furniture. The video in the basement about the history of the area was very interesting and a great use of our time on a rainy coastal day. Didn't buy anything in the souvenir shop downstairs but there was plenty to choose from.

We decided last minute to visit as we were passing and really enjoyed it! The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting so we would say this visit is suitable for all ages. Also, we saw a whale in the bay which was very exciting, definitely a place worth visiting!

Nice place to stop. The beach there is great, parking is good, but don't drive up to the lighthouse as it's pretty tight.
