About
For 47 years – even before there was an Oregon wine industry – the Sokol Blosser family has been perfecting Pinot Noir. Since founders Susan Sokol Blosser and Bill Blosser planted their first vines in 1971, the family has pursued winemaking excellence through environmentally friendly techniques. Today, situated on a certified organic 85-acre property in the Dundee Hills appellation, and farming another 43 acres of vineyards in Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills, B Corp-certified Sokol Blosser remains committed to a sustainable approach. This respect for nature has consistently captured the terroir of the region, showcasing its essence through the brilliance of its estate fruit.

Do not recommend! When planning our trip to Oregon Wine Country I knew that the one winery I wanted to go back to was Sokol Blosser. We visited the winery a couple of years ago and I loved the wine even though the service was a bit lacking. When I made our reservations for this time around a few weeks out I did not expect that they would try to seat us at a metal table and chairs in the full sun on a 95+ degree day. All of the other customers were seated with some level of shade, our table being the only one in the full sun. In fact the lady helping seat customers did acknowledge that we were at a “hot table”. I watched her put our wine tastings and food in the hot sun...the wine was going to cook. When I asked to be moved the winery was unwilling to accommodate, even though other groups were being seated in the shade. What they missed out on was a customer who would have spent a significant amount on wine today along with a guaranteed wine membership. Oh well, their loss, as there are way too many outstanding wineries in the area to even consider ever going back to Sokol Blosser.

We live locally and have enjoyed the view and wines of Sokol Blosser for some years. We did not know reservations were required, but that now seems to be the standard in the area which is probably a good thing as crowds in the past could be crazy and always unpredictable. We were given the option, however, of buying individual glasses of wine and still enjoying the scenary at a picnic table and many were open. We did that and shared tastes so it worked well for us indirectly.

We also brought some cheese and meat with us which again we use to do in the past. We purchased 6 glasses of wine total for 3 of us but were informed, after we were drinking and eating, that no outside food is allowed. This food policy, in our opinion, only reflects excessive financial greed from a company that does not need to require only food from their limited menu. It's really disappointing to say the least.

Coming from the midwest we've been fortunate to visit Oregon's wine country multiple times. Each trip we look for different wineries to visit, so many great ones. We have been Sokol Blosser members for three years now and have never been disappointed. The shipments, the in-person visits for tastings, the view from the tasting room and more. Friendly people on staff always willing to educate you in the wine making process. We visit every trip here and will continue to do so. We would definitely recommend a visit.

We had a scheduled tasting at Sokol Blosser on a holiday and chose to reserve the patio seating. Our wine tasting included a good sparking, the 2021 Estate Muller Thurgau, the 2018 Orchard Block Estate Pinot Noir, and the 2018 Watershed Block Pinot Noir among others. All of the wines were perfectly suited for the small food menu. We selected the macaroni and cheese, and it was out of this world! We also went with the meatballs to complement the pasta and wine. The onsite chef for Sokol Bloser is a fantastic cook. We settled upon the 2018 Orchard Block as our wine of choice, but I also liked the 2017 sparking wine.

The vineyard patio is so comfortable and perfectly designed for couples and friends to chat and taste wine, facing the vineyard hills. You can also walk around with a glass and explore the property. The stories of the visionary Susan Sokol Blosser and her family inspired me so much that I went to a bookstore later and purchased one of Susan's books called The Vineyard Years that tells about the founding of the winery. Love this place!

We had a terrific experience tasting 6 different wines here (and left with as many bottles!). The staff was very accommodating when we had to change the time of our reservation and welcomed us on a deck where we could bring our dog. We'll definitely be back.

We had high expectations from everything we read during our research and were excited to visit. We were seated in the original (older) tasting room. Doors were wide open which permitted the many, many bugs to enter and create a very disturbing and uncomfortable tasting. This was our last winery to visit in our 4 day stay and we did not encounter an army of bugs like this anywhere else. Also we were handed tasting 'notes' along with beakers of our tasting selections with little to no input from our attendant. With the attack of bugs we couldn't enjoy the wines! A very disappointing tasting!!

While visiting my hometown of Portland, Oregon, a few weeks ago, my 97-year-old mother and I took a day-long drive through the Tualatin Valley/Chehalem Mountains wine country. We stopped at Sokol Blosser because it is one of the few Oregon wines we can buy at Vinmonopolet (the wine monopoly) in Norway. I was afraid we would need reservations, but was pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome we received. Mom didn't feel up to going inside for a glass so we purchased a bottle of Pinot Gris. Thanks for your kindness and hospitality!

I came with low expectations for this winery although I tried highly rated Pinot noir vintage from them and loved it, yet I thought it was just one unique wine I found. I was wrong. The tasting experience changed my mind. Positively
Service is very slow due to low staffing and very busy Saturday.
The only negative is the view of the outdoor seating. View of parking lot and a vineyard section
Wine tastings options:

Rainy day that luckily turned into sun. The building is built into a hill. The back had a great patio space where we got a table. The view from the front is actually better, but the table situation with umbrellas is good in the back. Brittany was our host....we had the $45 Estate Pinot Noir Flight.
They were very busy, didn't get a lot of information, but it was relaxing.

Bubbles! We picked Sokol for their Bluebird cuvée! After our tasting all their wines were a favorite. The Rose of Pinot Noir was a wonderful wine. I’m wishing I had bought more than one bottle.
We were greeted with smile and a pour. A great way to start the tasting.
Elena, Marissa and Callie were all so sweet and friendly! Callie poured for us and she was very knowledgeable!
We added cheese board and popcorn to our tasting. Yummy!
Not only did we love the wines, we loved their cute gift shop area. Of course we had to buy jellies and sweatshirts.
I’d return to Willamette Valley just to visit here again!
