We were in suspense up until the last minute over whether our whale watch tour would be canceled because of weather and choppy waves. After a cancellation on our first day, we rebooked the next day and were hustled down to the wharf for a...More

My wife and I and three others had a blast with Capt. Dan and his 6-passenger Zodiac boat. He was extremely knowledgeable of not only the whales but also of other marine life and the history of this quaint town. We saw five gray whales...More

SO glad we opted to go out with Carrie for whale watching. Her knowledge of the whales is outstanding and her co-pilot, Kida, the whale sniffing dog was an added treat. We saw whales from the moment we left the harbor, and plenty of them!...More

Heard whales sightings were great, so we were lucky to find Whale Research EcoExcursions. It was great, because not only did we see whales, we watched a video starring Carrie and she educated us about gray whales and why they come to Depoe Bay, Oregon....More

I am interested in scheduling a whale watching trip on the Zodiac boats. We will be in Depoe Bay Aug 19, 20, and 21, 2017. Please let us know about ANY availability those days. (We have at least 8 people interested; possibly 12-15. We could split up to two different days and times; we don't have to all go together.)

Is December a good time to see whales or are they no longer migrating?

Depoe Bay has year round resident gray whales. However, the weather on the Oregon coast in December is very iffy. You should check and see if the whale excursions even go out in December.
