Very nice trails, easy walk and very scenic. Only problem is (not so much the nudity) is that you might stumble across a guy giving himself a rub & tug, twice I've stumbled across that (YUCK). Just wanted to walk on the trail not seeing some guy tugging away. Overall I like the park didn't enjoy the side show.

This park is conveniently located with its own exit onto Interstate 84. Be aware that if you want to travel the part of scenic Highway 30 from Portland that is not restricted by timed entry permits, you'll need to get back onto I-84 at Bridal Veil - but there's no way to continue east without an entry permit since the interstate highway entrance goes only to the west. If you'd like to see points further east, backtrack one exit to Rooster Rock State Park! Have a leisurely lunch or snack there overlooking the River, then you can get back on I-84 going the way you wanted to. This was well worth the $5 entrance fee for us.

Unless you want to be naked there is nothing here for you! Just a bunch of nude people! I want to have a nice time in thw sunshine but there is nowhere here to just relax with my family of 8.

We were out to Cascade Licks in Labor Day to buy fresh caught salmon, so we stopped on the way back for a dip in the Columbia River at Rooster Rock. I have been here several times over the years. It’s a great park for a picnic and an ideal spot for a cool swim. Yeah, there’s a clothing optional area but that’s way far away from where the families and kids play and picnic in the sand. On a warm weekend expect lots of people but the park is huge and there is a lot of parking.

Long walk to get out to the water but worth it once you get there. There is also an island with sand dunes that you can swim or float to. Most people will be nude, but not everybody.

One of the very few clothing optional beaches in our country, Rooster Rock State Park is also known for its sandy beaches and extremely beautiful surroundings. Here, Columbia River is rather wide so that water is smooth; walking in the shallow water as the gentle wind kisses your face, it is delightful to cool off during the summer hot day. At the east end of the park is the Sand Island where you will see some sand dunes as high as 40 feet. This part of the beach is even more peaceful as it is more than a mile from the park’s entrance although the trails have minimum vertical changes. I saw a few osprey nests where adult birds were busy feeding their babies. I also saw a few Great Blue Herons that were feeding in nearby ponds. Parking is plentiful. Day pass of $5.00 is required. Highly recommended.

We stopped here out of curiosity on a trip to Multnomah Falls in mid March.
The views were beautiful, if a bit spartan. The river had receded significantly from the point I've seen in other photos, so it was cool to walk along the docks over the reeds without getting at all wet.
There was a distinct lack of information or signposts however, so it took us a while to even figure out where we were!

We did a spur of the moment stop at this park and it did not disappoint us. Parking is five dollars. Plenty of parking space and very clean restrooms. We took a stroll near the Columbia River and it really awed us with the scenic view of the spectacular river and mountains. It was super windy that afternoon but well worth the view and the visit.

My first visit to rooster Rock State Park.....a gorgeous sunny, warm day. I hiked out to the east end of the park to soak up some rays. A wide variety of people from all different persuasions had the same idea. The park is big enough for us all with room to spare.
