The view at the lookout is most definitely worth stopping for! Get out, stretch your legs and enjoy.

Vista house is the first stop on the Columbia gorge highway. Great views of the Columbia river and valley. The visitors center is great with very helpful volunteers. Nice gift shop and small cafe.

The views were very nice, and the building is unbelievably elaborate. Good stop though. It's very busy and hard to park.

This place gives a wonderful view of the river. We went in August of 2012 and the weather was absolutely beautiful!

We stopped here on a whim, but were glad we did. It is a cool building with just breathtaking views of the area. they have bathrooms and coffee and really sweet volunteers inside to give you travel tips and answer questions. We felt like we'd stepped back in time!

The drive up from the Columbia River was beautiful. The Vista House itself is round and breathtaking, just like the views. Unfortunately they were closed when we were there. Apparently it was a stopping place for weary travelers many years ago. Lots of tremendous photo opportunities!

This is a beautiful look out point, spot to stretch your legs a bit, and potty spot! Volunteers are super friendly and welcoming. --Sign the guest book-- This beautiful and historic spot is on the scenic route to getting to Multnomah Falls! Worth the extra time it takes. Not sure why some people are in such a rush to weave... More

Vista House is ideally situated for beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge. Photo opportunities abound. Careful in February, though. The Gorge is a funnel that can pour a cold, wet, wind down toward Portland at high velocity. The day I was there the east wind was a steady 35mpg but gusting to 75mph. That can blow you off your...
