Hi everyone, The Oregon Coast is beautiful!!! Located in Cannon Beach is Haystack Rock that sits about 25 feet from the beach and sits about 251 ft high. Tide pools around the base are home to many sea creatures. Puffins nest on the Rock and it is picturesque. A visit to OREGON must include a trip to Cannon Beach. The... More

The "rock" is just amazing. The birds, the waves, the sounds, the sand, the beach fires, the logs and all the families made it a dramatic and mesmerizing spot at all times of the day.

Drove the coast at sunset and stopped in Cannon Beach, OR. Great little town with lots of shops and restaurants from what I could see steaks to seafood and everything in between. They have a great beach with a perfect view of Haystack Rock and the OR Coast. I understand that people have whale watched from the beach. Did not... More

We had such a great time visiting Haystack rock, there were volunteers there to help with questions about the sea life and also had binoculars to look at the nesting birds on haystack rock.

Haystack Rock and the surrounding beach area are absolutely breathtaking. I have been to Diamond Head, in Hawaii, Yosemite, Monument Valley, the Pacific Coast, Mount Rainier and other beautiful sights and I consider Haystack Rock and the beach surrounding it to be one of the most beautiful areas that I have ever seen. If you are anywhere near the area... More

Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach is by far a must see and worth traveling to see. It's gorgeous. An eco system of it's own. The beach is beautiful, a bit cold so no for swimmers without wetsuits but certainly nice for wading on a hot day. I only wish I had more time there. At night the beach is beautiful... More

We drove the entire coast line -- south to north. There are many incredible places to stop but this is one of the best. Walk down to the beach and get up close and personal. Really amazing.

Found this Oregon Coast Gem by accident last summer and had so much fun we canceled our trip to Portland and stayed in Cannon Beach for a few days and went back this past week. This will be an annual trip and the Haystack Rock is God's special gift to us. The beauty and the natural setting with the ocean... More

Whiel haystack rock is an iconic volcanic remainder, it is best at very low tiides (-1 foor or mlore). Not only are the usual tidepool sea creatures visible, but the rock is home to a wide variety of nesting biurds (protected, of course). Th only disappoinment currently is the lack of starfish. The wating disease has claim so many. On... More
