This is a less-visited beach at the north end of Brookings, not far from Harris Beach State Park. It is a gorgeous, rocky beach with small seastacks our in the surf. We found an endless supply of agates of every color, plus a few small seashells, including a pretty limpet. The agates are of every color, blue, green, red, yellow, black, white, gray, black and white, orange, brown and shades in between. We filled our pockets with our treasures and enjoyed looking at the surf, tidepools, and seastacks. It was a wonderful, sunny, dry day at this beach. There is plenty of parking and a simply vault toilet available. I recommend this beach as it's less crowded than Harris Beach.

We didn't plan to stop here but stopped to see the view, found some black berries and the kids wanted to stay and play. They love playing with the driftwood houses, this was the perfect spot! Blackberries are delicious!

Lone Ranch Beach is a lovely day-use State Park located about 4 miles north of the town of Brookings on the southern Oregon coast, just south of Cape Ferrelo.
There are many scenic sea stacks and offshore rocks visible from Lone Ranch Beach, and it's delightful to watch the ocean waves crashing over them.
A well-marked paved road from the highway leads down the hill to a paved parking area, restrooms and picnic areas. The beach is easily accessible along a footpath, and is a great place for a short walk as it's not a long beach.
We enjoyed a rare, beautiful warm and sunny February day when we visited Lone Ranch Beach :-)

Go down off HWY 101 to access Lone Ranch Beach, 4 miles north of Brookings Oregon. After parking - walk toward beach and water then go left away from the picnic tables and people - there is a lovely area there with tide pools at low tide and a rock strewn beach much different from the other beach here. Swallows were nesting and building on the beach rocks when I was there. Seals popped up in the water to check me and the dog out. Blissful.

Lone Ranch is one of our favorites...close to town (Brookings), tables with good views of the waves, especially good rock and driftwood finds, generally soft sand for barefoot strolls, and "tadah"...restrooms!

A great beach area in Brookings, which features the best of Oregon and better than any in CA or WA. Great for the kids and you to blow off some energy and relax. Clean beach's is a norm in OR!

As others have said: sand, waves, tide pools, beauty! All that and you don't have to hike to it (like so many other beaches in the area).

My husband and I spent an hour here yesterday on our anniversary. The view is just gorgeous. It's a great beach to walk on and you can have a picnic there as well. We saw plenty of wild life while there and people all around were smiling.

While camping at Harris Beach State Park, we decided to drive a few miles north to check out this beach. We ended up liking it much better than the ever popular Harris Beach because it was less populated and had everything you could want in a beach: few people, tide pools, lots of cool-looking stacks, and a large expanse of beach to walk on. We even decided to shoot the sunset at this beach rather than walk down to Harris, which usually has 30 or so people taking sunset shots. I think Lone Ranch Beach only had 4 other people for the sunset. You do have to walk down to the southern most part of the beach to actually capture the sun disappearing into the water, but I think the landscape is much more interesting than Harris Beach. Beat of all, if you take the paved path from the parking lot, the walk down to the beach is very easy. It was worth the 5 minute drive from out RV park at Harris Beach. If you want to avoid the crowds, try this place. Great for dogs (on leash) and kids. Oh, and it doesn't require a pass of any kind.

I'm wondering about this beach's accessibility for someone using a walker. We visited Harris State Beach, which is listed as "accessible", but the ramp that zig-zags down to the beach is very long. By the time we got down to the beach I was exhausted. I do appreciate that they made it accessible, but am hoping to find a more accessible beach somewhere along the southern Oregon coast. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
