This review is more than just Sparks Lake which is great but I am telling you that you have to travel the entire Century Drive. There are a number of lakes along this route and will take you through beautiful country. Check out the whole area you will not be unhappy that you did!

Sparks Lake is a great place to explore in your canoe or kayak. There are little coves along the shore and an incredible view of South Sister and Broken Top. If you don't want to be on the water, take a picnic and a chair and sit on the shore to watch the osprey catch their lunch. Go early on... More

We had a harder time finding the entrance (there is minor construction in the area) for this area but after a couple tries we found it. The area is very peaceful with great views of the northern mountains (three sisters). There is a short hike on a nice path. The scenery is great and I would recommend it. Make sure... More

A rough road to get there but passable to most cars. When you arrive the views of South Sister over the lake are fantastic.

Its hard for us to go to Bend without doing this hike. The views of sisters and broken top are amazing and the lava tube terrain is pretty special. Not long or hard hikes so good for couples and families. Make sure you have a camera.

Went to Sparks lake for a camping trip - great spots right on the lake - took the kayaks out - parts of the lake are a bit shallow so watch out for rocks - but the views are tremendous. Also, there is a Ray Atkinson trail that is a very easy hike and very beautiful.

The water level was down a bit, but it was a great place to see the Perseid (meteor showers). There is camping, kayaking, fishing, hiking . . . .

My first kayaking experience was here today -amazing. Views like you won't believe. Great photo ops at every Bend (pun intended) in the lake. A truly magical place for one to combine with nature.

Went kayaking with the hubbins. Lots of space, great scenery, smooth water, plenty of places to take out and enjoy lunch or go for a hike. It's not a long drive from Bend but that means there are lots of people! Fortunately, there was a gray sky so most folks left, thinking a storm was imminent. The storm never passed... More
