This Interpretive Center exceeded my expectations - not just because of the set-up and in-depth history I was able to learn from the various exhibits and media but also because the building itself is in excellent condition, and the mountain views from the rear windows are spectacular. Had weather permitted, I would have loved to walk around some of the... More

My husband and I are both history buffs and I had heard so many positive things from others about this place. So maybe my expectations were too high but I did not feel like it offered a ton. Our favorite part was the location as it was beautiful and helped give you an idea of the areas that pioneers came... More

The surroundings are breathtaking. The center itself offers a nice overview of what the Oregon Trail actually meant and beheld at the time it took place. There's a lot to read though and you may get bored and lose interest in all the boards. Although we were there during a good winter with lots of snow so we might not... More

Wow, what a museum! The stage is set for a fantastic experience by the one mile drive up a winding road to the top where you are treated to the same sight that pioneers 200 years ago saw. Even then there must have been wagon tracks leading their way west. Was it exciting to see the next phase of their... More

We visited the interpretative centre and were amazed. It is a wonderful understated place that outlines the struggles that the early pioneers endured to make it to the western states. The entire centre is located on a hill that provides a view of the area that is first class. The audio visual explanations of the journeys these people made are... More

Realistic exhibits. Audio-Visual throughout, as well as well-written placards and signs. Very educational and informative. Something for every age level. Lots of authentic artifacts. Well worth the 5-mile drive out of town.

The Oregon Trail Interpretive Center was by far the best museum on our trip of the US Northwest. Both we and our kids enjoyed the hours here. The exhibition was both touching and informative. Go there if you are close!

One of the best histories of the Oregon Trail. Great exhibits, informative videos and interesting activities make this a great place for kids and adults alike. Trails outside lead past a gold mine and parts of the Oregon Trail. A must-see for history buffs.

Exceptionally well done exhibits and information regarding the Oregon Trail and especially the area around Baker. Well worth the slight detour from the freeway passing through the Baker area.

The "life like" panorama of families, guides, Conestoga wagons, hand carts was extremely well done and educational. There are several mini-theaters with tableaux depicting scenes of the early West and a much larger theater with scheduled time shows. The entire center is spotless with a helpful and knowledgeable staff. The is shopping area, snack bar and clean restrooms. Huge windows... More
