This park is quite busy most weekends with people enjoying riding their dune buggies on the many acres of sand dunes. I walked up to the observation tower at the north end to watch part of the action, which can be quite entertaining. One can only see less than half of the total desert but still a large expanse is... We have been going for years. Riding is always a good time but campground facility's and some of the park rangers leave more than a little bit to be desired!!! Bathroom's are always filthy, definitely want to take a camper if poorly maintained bathrooms are a problem for you. In the past 20+ years of going I haven't ever had... More

Went for my kids birthdays, older teens and 21year old. They all had a blast. We rented ATV's from Stewarts ATV and buggy (literally just down the road) normally $150.00 for half a day but they gave us a great deal on 2 for just a couple of hours. Late August is usually very hot so we pretty much had... More

This place is super cool. It supports some of the best terrain for ATVs, ORVs, dirt bikes, jeeps, etc. in the Midwest. Expect to pay $10 per person at the entrance. It has both great trails around the perimeter through the brush and wide open massive sand dunes in the middle. There were hundreds of people there when I went... More

People at the camp were very nice and helpful. The dunes are clean and fun! For myself and my husband a few hours was good enough. We had two teens with us that could have played on the dunes all day/night. The campground we stayed at was hard to find. We had to go to a diff camp to ask... More

We were simply trying to see as many of the state parks as we could and we came upon this one it looked like a lot of fun and it is very interesting. We did climb to the lookout but that's about all you can do when you don't have the proper vehicle. To maximize your enjoyment you would probably... More

We had to go see the sand dunes in the northwest section of Oklahoma. So cool! Lots of off road vehicles playing in the sand dunes. We drove through the large campgrounds. Lots of empty spots on Labor Day weekend. We walked up to the observation deck to see the dunes. It's the ultimate in off road vehicles and dune... More

The town is small! The people are really friendly! I like to hike and take photos. If you are into this go in the winter when there are no snakes. A lot of people take the ATVs other times of the year and I'm not really into that at all. There are still pathways for you to to walk and... More

We went thinking that we could possibly do a tiny bit of 4 wheeling along the road in our lifted 4 wheel monster truck. Nope lol. It does look like fun but if you don't have a 4 wheeler or buggy, there is nothing there for you to do or see. The dunes aren't even viewable from the park road.... More
