The museum got its start in 2000 during a citywide process called VISION 2010. In a series of meetings, local citizens came together and identified goals they would like the community to reach in the next ten years. Many things were discussed. Among them the town wanted unique attractions that would help to make Pauls Valley a destination city. With the help of local artist and toy designer (and collector) Kevin Stark, a board was formed to start working on the world’ s first museum devoted to the art and sculpting of action figures! The museum acquired its 501(c)3 nonprofit status and the group began researching and creating the plans for a first – class facility in the heart of downtown Pauls Valley. It took the group five years to put everything together and the doors opened on October 15, 2005.Since that time the museum has had visitors from every state in the union and over 40 foreign countries and has helped serve as an economic catalyst for the downtown area. With group tours from state wide public and private schools, senior citizen groups and various tourist groups, not to mention curious travelers, the museum has seen over 50,000 visitors since it opened its doors. An accredited museum, The Toy & Action Figure Museum has won several awards, including the Redbud Award for Best New Tourist Attraction in the state for 2006 at the Oklahoma Governor’ s Conference on Tourism.

The Toy and ACTION FIGURE Museum, features a VAST collection of NEW and opened Articulated figures, and their accessories. (About 7,000 on display at any one time.) The museum also features the Oklahoma Cartoonist Collection as well. Fun spot to walk down memory lane with the kids. You will probably see every action toy you had as a kid. Good spot for a hour or so of fun.

I'm not a fan of comics or action figures so I was a bit sceptical but I was surprised. It was relatively small museum full of action figures and toys, some of them quite old. It was just right size for a museum like this and took a bit more than 30 minutes to walk thru. My wife liked it... More

The action Museum was cool but more for older people or collectors. Our two 6 year olds were pretty bored. It was nice for the adults to go back in time and appreciate it. Only takes about 40 minutes to go through it. Has senior citizens discounts and there is a 2 dollar coupon on line.

Curator is happy to provide behind the scenes snippets, they rotate the exhibits so different views through thought the seasons. There is a place for kids (and adults I suppose) to put on capes and masks to be superheroes. Plenty of cutouts to take selfies with! There is an Oklahoma cartoonist section that is very interesting. Their gift shop has... More

We had a wonderful time. It was a blast walking thru and reminiscing about being kids again. Rememering times when we played with this set up or that toy over there. It was very reasonably priced. They offered a Military Discount when we asked. I really enjoyed listening to my husband tell me about all the Star Trek and Star... More

We had so much fun in the museum. Kids of all ages were smiling and remembering they had one of these . They had everything from toy story to lost in space . You have to look up , over down. There is stuff everywhere. While visiting check out Fields pies just down the road. Yum

I came here to review this and am even more incensed when I read the admission prices. We were here on July 12 2016 and paid $31.02 for two seniors, two adults and one 13 year old ( adult admission I assume) and the two children were free (one infant one toddler) Does NOT add up from other's admission price... I have driven by several times and decided I finally had the time. I was surprised by the cost. I believe $6. But I was encouraged to take as many photos as I like and to browse at my own pace. There were only a couple of other people there so I felt like I had the place to myself.... More

Driving from OKC to Dallas and decided to stop to take my 7-year-old son. The place was small and very short exhibit. I paid a total of $17 for myself, my 14yr old and 7 yr old, OVERPRICED. The exhibits were ok...just a bunch of toys in different places of the room, it was definitely not worth my money. There... More
