My husband and I visited the capital building on our cross country trip. The capital was nice, if difficult to get to. The government office are all around it and the roads circling the buildings are somewhat confusing.

Entering this building and thinking about the history that has been carried inside the walls is amazing. Be sure to arrange for a free guide to enhance the value of the walk-through!

I've been to a couple of dozen state capitol buildings around the country. This one, though, is the only one with an oil well in the parking lot. Welcome to Oklahoma City. The capitol offers quite a welcome to visitors. This building has an interesting history. It was built in the 1910s, but the state didn't have the money to... More

It's easy to get to, ample parking. Gorgeous outside and inside. They have tours and nice staff to help with any questions.

There is a lot of construction going on so we had to hunt for a way inside. Although parking is free, parking around the building is limited to personnel so we had to also hunt for parking so there was a good deal of walking just to get inside the building. Which was tiring for a member of our group... More

Though I don't travel to specifically visit state capitol buildings, I do go when we are near one. This building and its grounds are very nice. It was interesting to see the old oil well in the front of the building. We first went to the visitor center/gift store. It is here where you can get a tour. We were... More

Very friendly people at the visitor's center, a good and interesting tour of the Capitol with some fine little facts not always available to non-locals.

I enjoy going through the Capitol building, seeing the changes that are taking place as the renovation continues. There are two entrances, on the East or West sides.

I recommend walking around the outside of the Capitol before going inside. You will see stunning sculptures, historical oil wells, significant memorials and Oklahoma's own version of the UN. Here's what I mean: on the north side you'll come to a circle of flags that represent the sovereign nations that reside within Oklahoma. That's right. Oklahoma boasts at least 38... More

I had a wonderful visit to the State Capitol in Oklahoma City. The building is beautiful and I found the free tour interesting and informative. I didn't buy anything from the gift shop but I did take a lot of photos around the place.
