Devon Energy Center is a grand structure in downtown OKC. Soaring over 800 feet above the city streets, the building is an architectural beauty. Atop the building is the restaurant Vast with a panorama view of Oklahoma City. At the base is a 5 or so story rotunda/atrium that is just gorgeous. And there is also a great restaurant/cafeteria on the ground level. The building is also beautiful at night with the various lighting options that exist. It is a beacon for OKC.

Jon Pickard of Connecticut is the architect behind this magnificent structure, which is the tallest building in the state of Oklahoma. Construction began in 2009, and was completed in 2012.
We did not have time to take the elevator to the restaurant (next time!), but our daughter drove us around the block several times, plus, we saw it multiple times from afar. The visual impact it has on the entire City is striking. A true landmark.

We went to Devon Energy Center to the resturaunt at the top for a Lunch Buffet. Along with the amazing views of Oklahoma City (you can see forever) the food was exceptional. They have a 4 t 5 star lunch buffet with many choices! Well worth the visit.

The Devon building is quite a sight. It absolutely dominates the city landscape. You are able to visit the lobby area of the building and that alone is exceptional. A view from the top is breathtaking.

We were at Myriad Gardens touring and decided to visit the Devon Energy Center. There is a coffee shop and a restaurant on the lobby level and a restaurant named "Vast" way up at the top of the building that obviously has vast views of Oklahoma. Vast is open for lunch and supper. Reservations are recommended for supper. Tours are given on Thursdays and you can reserve a slot from the Devon Energy Center website.

We love the Devon Energy Center! It is very interesting. We like eating on the 49th floor at the Vast restaurant too! A great view.

This magnificent glass and steel tower is an 850-foot high, 50-storied corporate skyscraper in the downtown area. It ties in height with the Park Tower in Chicago and is the 57th tallest building in the United States. Construction for this striking building started on October 6, 2009 and everything was completed in October 2012 at an estimated cost of 800 million dollars.
It is the focal point and a symbol of the resurgence of Oklahoma City. You can see it from almost anywhere in the city. It contributes greatly to make the downtown look like an ultra-modern metropolis. One newspaper article states that “Oklahoma City is on the rise, and Devon Energy Tower is helping the city reach new heights – literally”. That statement rings absolutely true when you stand there looking at that tower.
There are many boarded-up broken windows noticeable on one side. This was due to an unfortunate incident that occurred with the lift of some window-washers swinging out of control in May 2019. Fortunately the crew was safe, but it created lots of scare at the time.
The architectural design has won several awards. The Lobby is marvelously modern and jaw-dropping. We were informed that the unique three-sided structure is a sustainable one during hurricane season. The amazing lighting at night makes it stand out like a beacon no matter where you are in the city.
There is a very nice restaurant called “Vast” on the 49th floor with incredible views of the surrounds. We were fortunate to have had the chance to lunch there.
We photographed this stunning building throughout the day in different lighting conditions, and every single time our pictures came out great. Amazing!

This building is spectacular from the outside... but wait til you get in! Just take a great big breath before you walk into the atrium... don't accidentally sit on the fountain.

This free tour can be booked through their website, just make sure to reserve in advance as tour spaces are limited for capacity control and are mostly held on Thursday.
About 22 people signed up for the tour, though only about 11 showed up. The 60-90 minute free tour was guided by Lee Johnson. Lee gave lots of detail about this site which was previously a five-story parking garage. Lee talked about the various woods and marbles delivered from around the world that adorn the lobby and second floor atrium areas.
We were soon whisked to the top floor where there is a restaurant, conference rooms, and 360 degree view floor to ceiling window views of the entire region. Lots of time was provided to take photos from the top floor and once everyone was satisfied we were whisked back down to the lobby to end the tour.

I remember seeing this great building being constructed and it has turned out to be a beautiful part of the OKC skyline. One thing that I noticed recently is that walking in downtown, to the east of Devon Tower, it is like a laser beam is directed at your eyes. Remember when mama told you not to look into the eyes of the sun? This is what you get when looking at the tower from the east in the morning.

Not a Observation platform per se, but when you go up to the restaurant VAST, you can walk around the upper floor, you can see a panoramic view of the city. You can get a drink and take in the view. Have a great time.
