Not a beautiful lake, but it is in a great location and there are no ramp fees. There is nothing wrong or dirty about the water, it just happens to have a red clay bottom. Great people, police don't hassle. Good times!

This is a great place to take the family. They have recently made nice improvements to the area to include wheelchair access at fishing areas. A nice place to see wildlife.

I loved this lake as soon as I arrived. It was lively, large and had a variety of activities to enjoy. I have visited several other Oklahoma lakes I managed to enjoy as much as one possibly can after a 2 - 4 hour drive....More

I grew up in Norman about a mile from this lake. Huge improvement have been made on both sides but we’ve used Zoom Beach on the Alameda Street side the last two years. We rent a pavilion ($75 Per day) and get all the privacy...More

We took our RV and spent the weekend here. The camping areas are good/nice. Definitely brings some outdoor games to stay entertained. The lake itself was a huge disappointment. Nasty/dirty, hence the lakes nickname: Dirtybird lake. Still, tubing was fun.

We started at the Clear Bay Area for our hike which I thought was on the blue trail. Turned out we were on the green, then red, and maybe even yellow before we got to the Blue trail. Didn’t matter because we loved the hiking...More

We go primarily for bird watching. There's camping areas, day use areas, picnic areas, swimming areas, equestrian trails, walking trails, boating and RV set ups. I do wish there was more access to the water. When there's a lot of people, it is a little...More

We took our RV to Lake Thunderbird this weekend. There aren't many RV sites on the Norman side. 50 amp sites are extremely hard to come by. The camp hosts was very nice though and once we did find a place it was pretty peaceful.

The lake looks good and has great facility for Campers and people with Boats. Biking trails are also good. Not a very friendly hiking trail. Good part is that they have a restroom at the beginning of the trail Overall the area is beautiful but...More

This park is clean with fairly easy access. Easy back in sites with shade and tree's. Our 3rd visit here and we are always lucky enough to get a lake side site. Excellent Satellite reception (DISH) and cell phone signal (AT&T). No antenna TV reception...More

They should just be paying for parking unless you’re in one of the pavilion areas. Those, you’re just paying for the pavilion and all overnight campers still have to pay for their spots. Hope that helps!
