We visited a day or two after a long rain and it was still rather muddy. This is not the easiest place to walk. Much of it is on a pair of hills. The path to the faerie garden does not drain so well. There's a little pond which was pretty and several places to sit down and look over the hill. Not by any means a vast collection of exotic plants. This is no metro botanical garden, but more of a community garden maintained by an all volunteer crew.

We took a day trip to discover Zanesville and this was one of our stops. It was early spring so there were some tulips and daffodils in bloom. The trees were just starting to bloom and Bud out. It is a very relaxing environment hidden in a lovely residential area of Zanesville. You can spend an hour strolling the grounds.

We will probably return later in the season to see things at their peak.

Did I mention it is free!!!

Great little park to visit has a small water fall and pond. Has a nice walking trail not a long one, but it goes thur flower gardens and different plants. A lot of plants are marked for what they are. A nice peaceful sitting

If fairies were real, this Is where they'd vacation! These gardens are a true hidden gem in this area. My husband and I visited in August in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week. We were the only ones there. It was thoroughly enchanting.

As you enter the gardens, there is a post that has a small container with pamphlets in it; take one, they're free. Inside the pamphlet is a map of the garden areas. The flowers, shrubs and trees have tiny name markers in the ground under them if you're curious as to what they are. The paths meander through both open areas and a bit of trees. There is a delightful gazebo that is so unique, all the spindles of the railing still have the bark on them. Very cool. This place restored my soul. I am hoping to return next year in late spring to see different flowers in bloom. Well worth seeking out and visiting! It would be a lovely place to take small children to give them a sense of woodland wonder and whimsy.

What a way to spend a nice day out walking the trails, seeing all the beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees. You can have a picnic there around the gardens. I lived here in Zanesville for several years before I even heard about it. It seems like it's the best kept secret. I went with a group and not sure if there was a fee or if it is donation.

This botanical garden is a bit different in that it's build on a hill mostly and right in a neighborhood. Not very large but it does have some cool features like the conifer garden. also the woodland garden is nice and serene.

Mission Oaks is a hidden gem in Zanesville. The gardens are beautiful any time of year. There are nice walking paths, places to sit and most of the plants are labeled.

The pond and waterfall area is interesting since it has many unusual trees there. Plan to go during the different seasons as the gardens are always changing.

You won’t be disappointed.

An oasis of gardens in a resudential environment. Wonderfully maintained, a fine example of Ohio’s plants and trees.

Nestled in an older residential neighborhood, this is a great greenspace created for anyone to enjoy. A wonderful place to take an easy walk through a quant valley where new plantings, along with rock, water, and other garden features have been added amongst a mature woods. Great way to spend an hour in a beautiful outdoor setting

I had a hard time finding this place and once I did I had a hard time finding the point of it. You can't see much of the garden as you pull into the lot. There is a fenced in children's garden and a bare patch of grass. But then I read the signs (oh yeah). There are two trails off either side of the parking lot. One leads down to a beautiful hillside garden of conifers from around the world. The other is a woodlands trail with carefully attended plantings. Both gardens are very densely planted and feature plants not common in these parts. If you love gardens, you will want to seek this one out.
