What a beautiful place! Seemingly endless moors, craggy karst formations and wild unbridled mountain streams provide a very special experience.

Went to the top via bus and then to the bottom near the lake via cogwheel train and saw great views. Make sure you buy a daily, or up to weekly train/transport pass. It is very costly.

Ok so understand that the Biosphere Entlebach is like a national park with many different parts and treasures.....You need a good 2 days to see everything. I went to
kneipperlebnis wellness area

So peaceful and well worth the trek. Locals say its only 20mins up, but its more like 35! Water is amazing, so cold and fresh and it does wonders for the skin. Keep following the blue signs and look for the 3 large flags....

We drove up and down the lanes, just followed winding gentle roads. It was quiet and peaceful and lucky with the sunshine. People stopped to park and walk, following trails. At times you'" see horses ridden by locals. Large wooden barns with fat hairy cows looking at you, it was enchanting. Would love to visit in.The summer. Have a look at the photos.

This area of Switzerland is charming and unspoiled. There are no fast food chain restaurants available but only restaurants run by families. There are many places to go hiking and exploring. This fairly unknown area of the Kt. Lucerne is worth a visit.

Arriving in Biosphaere you will be totally involved in a charming environment. it's a great location for nature lover or simply for families with young children who will find funny facilities thought for them.
The Mooraculm in Soerenberg is specially great for children.

The UNESCO site is about one hour out of the town of Lucerne,Switzerland. Ask the tourism office at the train station in Lucerne for a tour guide - there is an electric tour bus that can take you out. The zone is unique because of the centuries of peat and then flora that has developed there. Wear good hiking boots as rocks between peat are very, very sharp. Stay on marked paths to avoid damaging plants. If possible arrange for a farm lunch on the way up in the buffer zone - many of the buffer zone farms sell organic cheeses, yoghurt and honey and herbs. There are a large number of underground caves in the same area and caving can be organised with the tour office at the station. Must have a guide for the UNESCO zone and caving.
