As others have said, this is the best collection of lithophanes in the world, with as many displayed as possible in such a small space. Only open 6 hrs. a week, but if you happen to hit it (as we did traveling through the area, along with the Toledo Museum of Art), you will find it delightful.

Exquisite small museum that is free of charge. Only open MAY-OCT on weekends 1-4pm Sat and Sun. The unique collection displays lithophanes which are back-lit porcelain pictures. they come in all sorts of interesting objects. This museum is definitely worth the stop. It is in the Toledo botanical Gardens surrounded by other small craft workshops also open to the public.... More

This teeny tiny museum (if another party is there you won't fit) is located on the grounds of the Toledo Botanical Garden. I always like to do something different but my family was not enthused when I announced we were going there "(Oh great, a nightlight museum" was one less than excited comment). However, everybody ended up having a great... More

This little museum is packed with fascinating lithophanes. I'd never seen or heard of them before visiting, but they are beautiful and unique. The world class collection housed here is well-organized and attractively displayed. There is an introductory video and volunteer docents conduct tours and answer questions. Well worth a visit if you are in or near Toledo on a... More

Lithophanes are sure to impress anyone interested in the Victorian Arts. This museum has limited hours so make sure to plan a visit between the months of May and October.

This museum houses a one time private collection of beautiful lithophanes. I doubt there is another like it. Beautiful! Located at Toledo Botanical Gardens which is a treasure in itself

Our very inthusiastic tour guide made our experience much more than expected. The art was well displayed. It's a small museum speciallizing in Lithophanes and takes no more than an hour or two to take in. Well worth it.

My family and i recently visited this very fascinating exhibit. It we very cool, in the words of a 14 year old. The detail in the art was hands down the most beautiful. So impressed with the staff as well. They tour you through and explain it all to you. You can leave a donation of you want but otherwise... More

I lived about a block away for 25 years... and never knew this existed. Wonderful exhibit and very knowledgeable guides. A great way to spend an hour or so.
