I was quite pleased that the Columbus Zoo allows you to bring a cooler of outside food and drinks. There is even a picnic area by the waterpark. That solves the problem of the overpriced concession stands. I am quite the cheapskate and I did...More

This must be one of the best zoos in the world. It is beautiful in every season. At Xmas its lights make it a real spectacle but Autumn and Summer are equally splendid. Everyone has their favourites - African world, Australia etc but I actually...More

Nice zoo. I thought the alligator enclosure was too small though. The gorillas were very entertaining.

We loved our day out here. The zoo is very sympathetic to the animals and we especially loved Africa. We got the chance to feed Rosie the rhino which was the highlight of our day. Good food in the Africa restaurant too. Prices not too...More

I haven't visited here in years so I was pleased to see how organized the parking and shuttle service were. The zoo itself reflects hard working employees, many , one could say are sincerely passionate about their jobs! The disappointment lies in the refreshment pricing....More

I cannot say enough about this zoo. It was incredible. The habitats for the animals are large and comfortable. The conservation efforts being made are clearly established and the exhibits are informative. The animals are well taken care of, and in fact seem happy. We...More

Great zoo, nice set up easy to navigate. Great food near African exhibit. Loved the cheetah run, and the zoo keeper talks. Do not mis the zoo keeper talk at the lions, quite impressive when they have to pry the tongs with a treat for...More

The Columbus Zoo is a great place to spend the day. The baby male moose is too cute and watching him play was a lot of fun. The new Heart Of Africa exhibit is well done. It looks like a smaller version of The Wilds...More

I’m shocked by the number of negative reviews for this Zoo and have to respectfully disagree with them. This zoo is simply spectacular! We’ve traveled to a number of zoos nationwide, including the grossly overrated San Diego Zoo. I had high expectations for them and...More

I've been to many popular zoos like the St Louis zoo, Washington DC zoo, Cincinnati zoo, Bronx zoo, and others. This zoo blows them all out of the water in my opinion. This place provides so much space for their animals and it takes hours...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
I know that children under 3 years old get free admission to the zoo. I called and asked if children under 3 also got free rides (pony ride, Jungle Jack's Landing, train, etc.). They said that children under 3 DO get free rides - you just have to tell the attendant of each ride they are under 3 years old. Can anyone verify this is actually the case?

I can confirm that for the carousel if you stand beside them to ride it requires one ticket. to ride a horse on the carousel they must be walking and have shoes on. I not sure about the other activities.

Yes. They are $35 and located just inside the main gate. You need a valid state handicap ID. Weight limit is 300 pounds. Battery life depends on the renters weight.
