Tonight we did the Ghost Stories of the Valley. It's about a 2 hour train ride. The train left Akron Northside Station, and stopped at Peninsula Station. Then the train heads back to Akron. The ghost stories were good, most were valley stories, and being St Patrick's Day, he included some ghost stories of Ireland. The train ride is relaxing,... More

Took the train ride on Saturday afternoon. Cars are nice and big - comfortable seating. Café car where you can get snacks, sandwiches and beverages. It's part of the National Park Services. It stops at several places where you can get off. One of the stops is a museum run by the National Park Services. Nice little museum with lots... More

Definitely chat up the tour guides who are a wealth of knowledge -- but bring your own snacks if you are on the coach side as the dining car is great for souvenirs but short on food choices. Enjoyed it although probably more scenic during non winter months!

I booked a breakfast ride for myself, my mom and my two kids, 12 & 9. First of all i didn't even realize Ohio had a national park so that is really cool. The train was fun and different. We did book the breakfast but I would definitely skip the food. It was not that good and did not add... More

The CVSR train is a great experience and a fun way to see the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It would be a lovely ride in the fall, with the leaves changing, or through the winter snow. We rode on a misty warm day and most of the snow was melted, but we still thoroughly enjoyed the ride! It was fun... More

We did the Scenic Railroad's 21 & Up Christmas train this past weekend and had a great time. They have Christmas beers, mulled wine and Santa on board while they played Christmas carols. The staff was wonderful and very, very nice. My only suggestion would be to better mark where you need to go upon arrival to the station- we... More

My extended family of 5 children (10, 8, 6, 5, & 2) and 7 adults ventured up to the Cuyahoga Valley from Columbus to experience the Polar Express for the first time this past weekend. We were told to be at the train station an hour early, at 6:00pm at which point we stood in a short line, boarded the... More

Fun filled evening with Elves, hot chocolate, cookie, story telling, and sights. Of course big event was Santa himself! Santa took his time with each child land presented each with a bell. It was well organized and executed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Event followed the Polar Express book/story. Highly recommend this.

We took this train ride with our children and their children. It was nice and the grandkids had fun. The gold tickets were a big hit! The popcorn, hot chocolate and cookies were tasty but gave the kids a sugar rush. The North Pole was very nice. Santa visits with each family not each child and seemed a bit tired... More
