- TripsColumbus, Ohio1 contributionTowerThis park was amazing! there is an observation tower attached to the old smokestack for the glass factory, from which you can see most of the area. great photo opportunity. there are two buildings there that can be reserved as venues for just about anything. The observation tower closes at dusk in winter, so try not to go after dark, as the tower automatically locks.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 March 2024
- Diana DNashport, Ohio389 contributionsWe’ll be back again! We didn’t have much time here. We just had a quick drive through, but based on that we will be back. Great areas for walking and watching wildlife. It has at least two areas where debris from the World Trade Ctr towers is displayed.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 22 March 2024
- Mary F13 contributionsA MUST see and do! 🚶🏼♀️🥾🗼🚲🚴🏼♀️This is what we need more of! The site of an old glass factory that went into ruins. It was repurposed, creatively redesigned and showcased the history of what used to be there and current use for the outdoors and a total family experience. Follow the paths and enjoy all the history of the Glass works that was once there. Past remnants of the factory are scattered artistically throughout the park. Landscaping is excellent. Trails are easy to navigate. At the pond they were having a fishing day for youngsters With fishing poles available giving some youngsters an experience they may not have had previously.. The grounds are huge. Walking, hiking, biking, you name it! The "piece de resistiance" was the 220 step tower you can climb to achieve a view of the park. There are porta potty bathrooms that are accessible. There are also multiple entrances to the park with beautifully designed metal arches for signage. The town of Mount Vernon is nearby which is quaint, and known for their dog fountain - very cute. Lots of stores, coffee shops and restaurants.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 19 May 2024
- MissLoraLaneWashington, Pennsylvania589 contributionsDesolate but interestingThis was an interesting park. It was desolate. It was remnants of an old factory complex. There were various art installations to see and a tower to climb to overlook the area. The big, huge factory warehouse apparently they have weddings there that you could book. But nothing was going on the day we were there. There is a lot of walking involved with us. There is a little parking lots to park your car for free. And there are little signs plaque that you can read along the way. There is pathways that are asphalt. It was interesting though.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 25 August 2024

This park is immaculate, comfortable, and contains a diverse set of attractions. You could spend a few hours or all day. They also have special events and perfornanaces throughout the year. Mt. Vernon should be proud!

Wow on so many levels. Particularly special at sunset.
We were in the area biking and were intrigued by the book in our room at the Mount Vernon Inn, “Ariel-Foundation Park: The Story of an Ohio Town that Preserved its History and Transformed an Abandoned Industrial Site into a World-Class Park” by Aaron Keirns.
We didn't have long to visit as nightfall was approaching, but I am so glad we made time to go.
After returning to our room, I spent quite a long time perusing the book about the park and it is quite a story. Thanks to all who made this amazing place possible!

Spent July 4 here attending a free concert and then fireworks. The grounds are beautiful, spacious and have remnants of the factory scattered. They had food trucks for the 4th. Large lake where you can fish, kayak, or picnic. Lots of trails. A truly beautiful space.

Nice park that is near Mount Vernon. Interesting history and re-purposed industrial park. Nice outdoor path, tower to climb and a big event center. The rail trail goes right by here so you can reach it on bikes or drive through the area. There is a nice area with small lakes nearby for fishing or a picnic. This is a free activity.

What an interesting, well-designed and versatile place. Love the offerings for walking, biking, picnicking, and a venue for events.
We came for the Nazarene University Spring Music concert. Loved the jazz, the women's chorale, the orchestra, and more.
Social distancing was practiced.
Just a lovely time as we have missed live music.

My wife and I were on our way to Ravenwood Castle and decided to stop at this park for lunch. We were amazed at the size of the park. We had a pavilion all to ourselves. It was a hot day, but there was always a breeze. We were so pleased to explore the park and the relics of the old foundry. It showed me what a small town can do to honor its history and provide a wonderful recreational outlet for the community.

We took a Sunday drive to explore Mt Vernon and I came across this park. It is an old glass factory ruins that they converted into a park. It is so unique. There are various ruins, ponds and buildings to explore. You can even climb to the top of one of the old ruins. There was a wedding going on when we were there and what a great venue for that. Well worth a top if you're in the area. I would plan on 1-2 hours.
