The Mound Cold War Discovery Center showcases a hidden but important part of American history. During the Cold War, there were many installations that were “fighting” the battle right under our collective nose. This tells the store of one such facility in Southwestern Ohio.

I never knew there was Cold War activity in Miamisburg. We were so intrigued by the exhibits here, and then met a gentleman who had actually worked there--his picture is on the exhibits. He had some interesting stories. The exhibits have hands -on activities, so kids are easily engaged in learning this history. Photos help the viewer imagine what this area looked liked during the Cold War era.

Directly across from the Miamisburg Mound is non-descript building that played a role in our nation's nuclear program. Today, the site hosts an exhibit about nuclear research along with artifacts of the time - eerie glow-in-dark dishware and signage urging nuclear workers to "leave shop talk here."

This museum is full of memories and memorabilia from the days of the cold war. Anyone wishing to know previously hidden info about the nuclear history in Miamisburg should definitely go here! The staff does an excellent job of adding bits and pieces of history also. A must-see if you are a history buff.

This is a little hidden gem about the nuclear facility in the town. The museum is small but has interactive exhibits and lots of information. I was surprised at how good this museum is. Highly recommended!

I was surprised how much information is presented that I did not know and I have lived in Miamisburg for almost 50years! It's hard to absorb it all so I will definetly be back. Best of all it is free!

Small museum which highlights some of the work performed at a now closed nuclear weapon laboratory. Exhibits tend to be wordy; more actual hardware of what was manufactured there would greatly have increased our interest in the subject. Highly suggest to combine a visit here with a trip to the large Native American built mound which is located right across the street.

Ice cold air-conditioning after climbing Miamisburg Mound. Clean bathroom s. This is a new place and just recently opened. Gives historical perspective to the development on nuclear energy and weapons in the U S. Plenty of interactive displays for young and old a like
